This is a stylish hotel in a good location.  It is kept immaculately .If you are on vacation there make sure you get a Marina view room.  Activity at the Marina is very interesting. We didn't and so had a view of the bus station at the rear. The train station is approximately 10 minutes walk away. When we arrived at the hotel we did not receive the grand Portuguese welcome that we had expected from a 4⭐  The receptionist was rather strange and unnerving.  Thankfully other staff made up for this initial disappointment. The housekeeping staff in particular are very friendly and a receptionist named Jorge was equally good.  Gabrielle was also helpful when I had queries after our trip. Be aware that they don't take cards  in the bar for less than €10. Cash only.  Probably irrelevant anyway as the tiny bar is not a place to linger. We just used it for a nightcap which we took to our room There is a lovely roof terrace roof terrace with chairs and super views. If the door is locked, I'm assured they will open it if you ask. The walk from the hotel to Rua Place de Portugal is a pleasant and safe 10 minutes. The rooms are small, but the addition of a small balcony with 2 chairs and a table is very welcome. There is good air conditioning.  The bathroom has a shower not bath. Housekeeping do a fantastic job, well done to them. There is a fridge and coffee/tea making. Safe. The bed was very comfortable. On the top floor there is a small heated pool which was closed in March Buffet breakfast is in the marina facing breakfast room. It is a bright cheery room. The staff are not friendly but efficient. There is a great coffee machine. The food is mostly fruit, cheese, juices, breads, cereals. Two hot dishes - hot bacon and either fried or scrambled eggs.  It was fine for what we wanted. Enjoy, and remember MARINA FACING ROOM.

Our stay at this hotel was a major disappointment, primarily due to the shockingly poor breakfast. Charging €20 per person for what can barely be called a breakfast is simply outrageous. If you're expecting a proper hot meal – forget it. On the first morning, the only hot items were an omelette and bacon. The next day – an omelette and baked beans. That’s all. No sausages, no boiled eggs, no pancakes – not even the basics you’d expect from a budget hotel, let alone a 4-star property. I carefully observed what other guests were doing: most just made themselves a coffee, grabbed a bread roll with some cheese or ham, and walked away. It was obvious everyone was equally underwhelmed. When my husband politely asked if it was possible to have some eggs prepared separately, the answer was a blunt: “We don’t do that.” Frankly, that response is unacceptable. If you don’t offer the most basic breakfast items, what exactly are guests paying for? On top of that, the staff were distant, unapproachable, and showed zero hospitality. They avoided eye contact and didn’t even greet guests in shared spaces – not in the hallways, not in the elevator, nowhere. This hotel does not live up to its 4-star rating by any standard. The service is minimal, the attitude is indifferent, and the breakfast is a disgrace. We feel thoroughly let down and would absolutely not return – nor would we recommend this place to anyone.

Perfectly located for the marina and old town. The only slight negative is the road in front which has the occasional boy racer speeding along it, but it's otherwise generally a quiet hotel with a pleasant roof terrace, small pool and a tiny bar. The room was nice, with a balcony overlooking the marina. The other rooms overlook a carpark so it would be worth asking for the marina side. There is parking next to the hotel which costs €10 a day, cheaper at the weekends and in low season. Traffic wardens check vehicles daily. We didn't include breakfast when booking as we like to vary it, but we did eat in the hotel a few times and it was good value, although the milky coffee from the machine was awful! The bar was ok but it, and the large lobby, are a bit dated. With a small investment in more up- to-date decor it would be a more inviting place to hang out. The best part of the hotel is the staff who are without exception friendly and helpful.

Spotlessly clean, updated, and quiet!

The room is a ten minute walk from the railroad station, which is how we arrived and departed.

Each room has a balcony with two chairs and a table. We chose a room on the west side to avoid the sun while enjoying a morning cup of coffee. It was fun to watch the beehive activity of the live market on Saturday morning. Although the bus terminal is behind the hotel, we couldn’t hear anything from there with the door closed.

In the evenings, we enjoyed the shade on the roof top patio. They had multiple seating areas, loungers, and a pool. The views were remarkable.

Staff members were all respectful, kind, and friendly.

The breakfast was complete, including pastries, fresh fruit, eggs, bacon, beans, cheeses, cold cuts, juices, and coffee.

We chose this hotel primarily because we took the train to Lagos, and didn’t want to walk far. But it was also an easy walk to the old town and to the beach.

My only surprise was that this hotel was not rated...
