Well what a weird experience. The setting and the place looked stunning. We had no trouble getting in and a seat by the window. The waiter appeared and never cracked a smile. However he did advise us that the portions were ferry big and maybe a main course each would be too much. We took his advice and ordered the veal slices with potatoes to share. We also ordered a starter each. I opted fir the smoked sausage which was literally just a big sausage on a plate which the the waiter attacked for me and cut it into 4 pieces, each one far too big for my mouth so I don't see what the point was. I've been cutting my own food up since I was about 5. My wife had the vegetable soup was was like something from a packet. When the main course arrived it was indeed huge and easily fed us both. Why it's not stated on the menu that it's really a sharing platter is beyond me. The unsmiling waiter just stood about 20 feet from out table staring at us. It made us feel very uneasy but the strangest isn't was when we were finished and we wanted to pay. All the waiters were sitting down eating their dinner in another part of the restaurant and we couldn't get anyone's attention. Eventually we had to get up and go to the table and ask to pay. From the outside it looks a very high-class establishment but it's definitely not and service us lacking. The food was very reasonable though if you take the sharing...
Read moreI - just- ate at this restaurant based on the wonderful reviews on Google. The food was good however, service was terrible. The only reason for 3 stars is the quality and quantity of food for the price. The waiter didn't smile at us once, and when we were deciding what to have, (we asked for his recommendation), he was very impatient. He failed to tell us until after the food arrived that both of the dishes we requested were for 2 people, (it was not marked as such on the menu). So essentially the two of us had enough food for 4..... luckily it was inexpensive. The restaurant had a good selection of wine to choose from and had a lovely view. Unfortunately for us, our server wasn't interested in serving us. We suspect it's because we were tourists(?)...
Read moreThe bacalhau ze de Pipo was very good. The view by the window at sunset was also great, though you’ve got to get there early. Service table side also good. The owners/manager are the only real issue. When the bill came, they’d charged for a slice of lemon for the water! My wife (Portuguese) went to give them feedback at the end that it’s kind of absurd and just devalues the restaurant, and they kicked off! “But you pay for lemon at a supermarket, don’t you?” She explained they didn’t have to agree, they just had to be willing to accept feedback. Deaf ears; there you have it, they’re that kind of people, customer service is not on the radar. So just expect to be charged for a slice of lemon, the olive oil, the...
