We stumbled upon this place, and it was hands-down the best place we have ever eaten anywhere! To start, we had a smoke sardine toast tapas and the duck gratin on toast. I love the duck gratin while my partner absolutely love the smoke sardine toast. For our course, we had the salmon in pistachio crust and pork leg confit. Both were stunners, but the pork leg confit absolutely blew us out of the water. It was probably the best meal we have ever had, ever. It was tender with amazing flavors. We will definitely be back! Someone give them a Michelin star!!!

Excellent restaurant with relaxed atmosphere. All dishes exceed our expectations. We were here two times during our 5 days stay in Douro Valley, once for tapas, once for lunch. Staff was very friendly and attentive. We all loved sardines tapas and chocolate mouse with port wine, olive oil and salt! Portions were very generous. We also bought their wine and olive oil. Big shoutout for chef!

This has been our best meal in Portugal so far. Cool little restaurant inside a converted train station, excellent wines and knowledgeable staff. We had a few tapas and one main with some wine pairings. Definitely a highlight of our time in Portugal so far. Make a reservation for dinner. It’s very popular.

It’s rare that I find the number one rated restaurant in Trip Advisor in a given location to actually be worthy of its ranking but Aneto & Table is an exception. In fact, it was so good we cancelled the next night’s reservation and came back again. Small and intimate, the atmosphere is quite nice for the Duoro Valley and the service and food are elevated to next level standards.

With a moderate sized menu that’s arranged in groups of wine pairings, the left side has a series of mains and the right side has tapas. Unlike most tapas, they make theirs large enough for actual sharing so you only need two or three to be full. Our server was young but unbelievably knowledgeable about all their wines and was easily able to make custom pairing recommendations based on whatever food choices you make.

Since we already had charcuterie and cheese for lunch, we chose a main dish of tuna carpaccio and three tapas; spinach tapas came with beautifully fresh spinach with walnuts, pears, big chunks of goat cheese and of course with locally produced olive oil.

The next tapa was sardines on toast which also came with fresh salad. Sardines are always fresh tasty and awesome in Portugal and not fishy whatsoever. Finally, we ordered gratin duck on toast which was flavorful and draped in port wine sauce and also comes with very fresh salad.

Finally, tuna carpaccio is thinly sliced with peppercorns and salted deliciously. Better than any tuna sushi back home it has arugula and fresh pecorino cheese on the side and comes served cold. Well worth the price.

For the wine pairing they had an interesting blend of reisling (not Portuguese of course) and a less used grape of the region which gave it a fruity but not overly sweet flavor. We also tried their rose which went well with the meal.

Dessert was a chocolate mouse with port wine that was excellent and oddly, they don’t have port wine because they said it’s too hard to make given the small operation they run so instead they had a selection of dessert wines that had less kick than port but good flavor

The second night we did have the charcuterie plate which comes in sizes for two or for many and it didn’t disappoint. But the squid ink pasta with smoked mussels and coriander was possibly the best dish we’ve eaten in Portugal and it’s big enough for two to share. And the cheesecake was excellent.

Overall, the eating and drinking experience is excellent and worthy of any five star quality you’d see in Porto or Lisbon. Highly recommended. Please support this...

I wish I could write this in Portuguese to tell the cooks how good our lunch was but unfortunately I can't... so I am using English instead !

This was an amazing experience, one of the top restaurant we had during our trip in Portugal, and I swear to god we visited a lot of restaurants !

Everything is fresh, the menu is designed with seasonal products. We had THE best slow cooked "sous-vide" pork chank in Moscatel wine with chestnut... honestly that was incredible. On the side, genius idea : some sort of crumble made with bread crumbs, some greens, cooked in butter I think, I will definately doing this for my guests in the future ! The red and green cabbage salad, with a nut oil dressing, was a very nice touch as well. These three dishes, which together made up a hearty main course, were a true ode to autumn. The interplay of textures and the balance of flavors were simply perfect.

As for the appetizer, the confit sardines on a slice of bread with tomatoes and pickles of red onion, it was also amazing.

Of course, this incredible menu goes with a nice and local wine to emphasize every flavor !

Of course, all of this for a very affordable price.

Então, aos cozinheiros que tornaram possível esta experiência culinária extraordinária e aos impecáveis servidores, um enorme...

Amazing!! Sublime! Just perfect over and over again! We dined here several times when we visited the Duoro Valley region a year ago. Aneto was the first place we returned to on our current trip to the Duoro Valley and we were warmly welcomed by Rita, the friendly and inviting hostess/server who remembered us immediately! The service from Rita was impeccable. The food is outstanding. We had the scrambled eggs with mushrooms for tasty appetizers then the pork loin and goat cheese with meat/veggies puff pastry. Everything was seasoned perfectly and served quickly by Rita! And don’t forget the wines! Aneto’s menu suggests wines that are superbly paired with the dishes. We plan on dining here a few more times during this trip again. The absolute best meals in the region in our opinion!...
