During our 4 day stay in Lisbon ate here twice. We also tried a different restaurant in downtown with a hype for being a hidden gem under questionable operations. But do not be fooled. Hao Zai Lai is the true hidden gem. The piri piri beef is so flavorful, and the meat is tender, cooked perfectly. We tried the regular stir fry noodles and the thin rice noodle vegetable stir fry, both are delicious but my favorite was the thin rice noodle. You can truly taste the “wok hei” flavor, from high heat cooking in a wok. I would like to do a special mention to the sweet older lady working the front of the restaurant. She was so kind and understanding despite the language barrier. I will definitely miss these newly discovered flavors as we don’t have these dishes in the Chinese restaurants...
