I once read that one should eat where the locals eat, so after passing by this restaurant, seeing it was full of locals, I went inside (all the tables outside were full)...and it was a lovely experience...the waiter (a young guy) was extremely friendly and spoke very good English...I was seated beside an older Portuguese couple and a young Portuguese man...the food (I ordered grilled chicken) was served promptly and it was fantastic...the whole atmosphere of the restaurant was happy, lively, friendly and homely...and when an older man (who was physically a bit disabled) came in, the young waiter was so sweet and helped him sit down, moving the table so he was able to sit comfortable...it was a very sweet moment and it proved just how lovely the Portuguese people treat their seniors....thank you to the young waiter and thank your for having me as a guest...I can recommend this restaurant to everyone, especially if you love great and simple food, served by lovely and...

In Lisbon for a weekend break and passed this place many times on the way back to the hotel. It looked like a place locals used a lot which is always a good sign so on my last night I avoided the fancy restaurants and went for something local instead. So glad I did!! The staff were very welcoming and advised a carafe of house wine to start things off. Perfect. I ordered sardines with fries and salad and my wife ordered garlic shrimps. Both meals arrived quickly and were cooked beautifully - it was simple food cooked really well. Delicious. There was a lovely buzz in the restaurant as people chatted across dinner and we got talking to a lovely lady who gave us insights into life in Portugal. Highly recommended if you want to get amongst the people of Lisbon and share a table of good...
