TLÁLOC - Restaurante Mexicano — Restaurant in Lisbon

Visiting this Mexican restaurant for the first time I have of course checked reviews and discounts on apps like TheFork or Zomato. Anyway I gave that spot a chance and try.

The food in general came fast and hot to the table. The tast was quite good and the price just fine. On that point unfortunately I have to deduct one STAR because both dishes were almost without any spices (salt and Pepper) could help.

The ambient and the service are solid and the atmosphere is amazing. The servings were made by two waiters (I am pretty sure it was a Father and his son). They were visibly committed to providing the best service. 5 stars may be awarded.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience and truly authentic Mexican food. We ordered pretty much everything on the menu and loved every bit. We live in California and visit ed Mexico often and we’re disappointed with the Mexican food in Portugal till we found this place. The staff and service were super attentive and kind and helped translate the Portuguese menu as well. Don’t miss the Fish Maya & the smoky Mezcal drink. Tres leches & churros were fresh and delicious. Unlike most restaurants that buy their desserts, they make their own. Will definitely come back! Highly recommend and wish them the best! Food was largely tasteless and unremarkable. The portions were tiny. 12€ for 2 miserablely small half filled enchilladas. You can get better portions at better prices downtown. Tortillas were served wet and broken and were neither acknowledged nor replaced by serving staff.

Wall benches were too high for the tables.

We walked in the restaurant at the opening hour. No other patrons. And the washroom bins were already overflowing with filthy garbage. This is not the way to run a restaurant.

A dismal experience.

Almost any other random Mexican restaurant you walk into in Lisbon will be better than this place.
