Girassol — Restaurant in Loulé

We went here Tuesday night, not overly busy with customers, drinks came quickly but we seemed to wait for a long time for the starters ( had to go and ask) then half way through the starters the main course arrived !! I also asked for Garlic bread starter without cheese and it came with cheese, not happy as I do find it sickly !! The steak I had ( I asked for this medium to well done) but it was still bleeding blood on the plate and was awfully chewy and did not taste great, I wanted to complain but the staff had miraculously disappeared !! I ate what I could & I never leave steak !! Only when we were almost finished did the waitress appear and come over and ask if everything was ok and I told her my dissatisfaction and she then came out with “ would you like it cooked some more” comedy of errors this place !! I didn’t like the service. 1) the octopus was disappointing. Octopus is usually served without the beak, and garlic should be peeled properly. And I think octopis was not fresh or it was marinated… 2) We waited far too long for our order, especially desserts, the service was slow.3) The pricing doesn’t make sense — maybe a fruit mix could be worth €4.80, but definitely not a single mango. 4.80 , but this is only my opinion. 4) The dessert - cookie cake , was half dry, as if it had been sitting there for a week. Been here several times , I've lost count. Highly recommend the entrecote steak and the lamb cutlets, both come with 2 sides of your choice. I love it here, friendly staff and delicious food!!!! I was here this morning with friends from the Flipper Dippers for coffee after our swim.....and I had to come back for my lunch! Tried the Gazpacho soup today for a starter, was really good and its perfect in this weather. It's along the quarteira beachfront but just tucked behind abit, you need to go up some steps.
