Truly would never say here again. The extra star is because the room is spacious and has a couch and kitchenette for convenience.
The bathroom smelled like a sewer. The shower water fluctuates between scalding hot and ice bath cold no matter what you set it to. I kept having to jump out of the water. The water was not coming out of all the holes in the shower head because they are not being cleaned properly for hard water. We left our shower rags on the floor to be replaced and only got one new one for my husband and I to share. We found dirty rags next to our bed when we returned from our day tour. In the “Spa” area the laminate on the fake wood is curling and peeling away from the wall. The hallways smell like mildew. I told the ladies working in the morning about the smell and the water issue and they looked at me like they couldn’t care less. They didn’t write anything down or offer to put in a service order When I brought the dirty rags to the gentlemen working in the afternoon all they said was “ok” and took them from me. No apology was offered.

Read moreStayed here for 3 nights in Pico. Hotel us in Areia Larga on south side of Madalena within about 15 minute walk into central part of town. Some restaurants are close by for lunches or dinners.|Check in was fast and welcoming. Our room was quite large with a huge king size bed, table and chairs and balcony. Kitchen counter but only a coffee machine from 4 pods provided (not re-stocked), no kettle to boil water. Pay as you go bar fridge. Large pools in and out but no time or weather to use them. Free ample parking. No sign anywhere to indicate hotel name (Apparently it might be coming?). We knew hotel because it is the bright red one.|Ample well supplied breakfast daily. An on-site restaurant but we chose elsewhere, not usually a fan of restaurants in hotels.|Rooms were not exactly quiet as we could hear occupants in next room and TV sound. TV stations provided in many languages for news (US or British, etc but no Canadian channels)|A very nice new hotel, not cheap, but certainly reasonable for what is provided. |I would...
Read moreWe stayed at the hotel for almost a week and had a very good experience overall, with some minor issues. The staff was very polite (contrary to what I’ve read in other reviews), and the room was fantastic. Breakfast was decent, though not very extensive. The spa was enjoyable, and everything there worked as expected. We didn’t have a chance to try dinner at the restaurant.
However, there were a few drawbacks. The shower had issues with water pressure and temperature, frequently fluctuating between hot and cold—something you wouldn’t expect in a 4-star hotel.
Additionally, some of the premium pricing for extra services seemed excessive, such as €5 to wash a single T-shirt.
The hotel is still under construction, which made it feel a bit empty and unfinished in places, but it didn’t cause any major inconvenience or disturbance.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you encounter bad weather while...
