Meh... We were expecting more I guess. Upon arrival we were told we could choose from the fish display they had at the entrance and we would choose and pay per kilo, (so like a fishmonger) OR we could choose from the menu at the table. So we thought we'd look at the menu at the table after ordering a drink. Nope, then we were told there was no menu, we ordered sangria which was basically watered down rose. And were offered some "snacks" a small plate of presunto and a plate of boiled prawns(ice cold and uncleaned). We expected to be able to order some kind of platter but were looked at weirdly and told to go choose our fish at the fishmonger. The man there was friendlier and recommended a sea bass to share and a tiger prawn cut in half to share too. The fish was great, but the prawn was like a rubber tire, and we were shocked when our bill for just the two of us came to 140(including tip) - definitely wouldn't go again.....

There’s a catch of the day menu hanging up (which doesn’t list 1:1 everything they may have), so you need to talk to the guy and discuss your options if you’re not already in the know. We went with sole and he weighed/priced the fish for us there before being tossed on the grill directly behind him. The views are stunning (try to get a window seat near the front), but bring sunglasses if it’s near sunset. Fresh as you can get fish - we also got a seafood pate, good barnacles, and a side salad. A couple chocolate desserts to top off the meal that was perfect. The wait staff spoke good English and even helped filet the fish for us (it comes whole off the grill). American credit card accepted (visa).

Para quem estiver a ler esta critica, pode ler tudo ou directamente ir procurar outro restaurante onde seja muito melhor servido como merece. Para a gerencia, poderá valer a pena efectivamente ler tudo. A gerencia pode ignorar e permitir continuar com mais do mesmo.... ou procurar efectivamente fazer algo. Um dose de humildade e realismo: 1) A vossa comida sendo boa, não é unica. Bom peixe fresco existe em muitos restaurantes na Ericeira. Fazer um peixe na brasa e cozer batatas ou legumes não é cozinha de autor que tantos outros restaurantes na Ericeira não façam igualmente bem faz anos. 2) A vossa vista sendo boa, não é tão, tão incrível que outros restaurantes na Ericeira não consigam igual ou até proporcionar melhor experiencia com decorações mais cuidadas e mais recentes. 3) É o serviço que efectivamente pode separar a experiencia num restaurante de outro. Na realidade o serviço já não era incrível, mas com restaurante cheio enquanto cliente tenho maior compreensão para o que corra menos bem. Deixo à vossa consideração o que justifica que com um restaurante com menor capacidade imposta pelas restrições a que acresce ter ido um dia que o restaurante já por si só tinha muitas mesas vazias por falta de clientes e mesmo assim, num restaurante que não serve propriamente menus baratos. Se o vosso colaborador Andre presta um mau serviço, a forma de gerir a sala deixa duvidas quanto ao procurarem cuidar a saúde dos clientes num contexto COVID ou apenas procurarem proteger o lucro. O que justifica ter mesas e clientes tão juntos, sem assegurar as distancias entre mesas e depois deixar mesas e mesas livres em outras pontas? Por fim, deixo para reflexão, se não perceberam estamos numa pandemia. O numero de turistas estrangeiros infelizmente reduziu de forma muito significativa O numero de portugueses que vai comer fora reduziu de forma muito significativa. Quem ainda sai a comer fora merece ser especialmente bem tratado. Os restaurantes que perceberem isso estarão abertos no final da pandemia. Os restaurantes que não perceberem... esperemos que não para dar lugar a quem se preocupe com os clientes.

Nice location. Empty restaurant. We were ROBBED!! Instead of wearing covid masks, Nume (not his real name), and his crew should have worn ski masks!! I paid 8 euros for some veggies and scrambled eggs for my wife,18 for a cheap bottle of wine, 3 for dessert and the balance of the 102 euros for two prawns, a steak and some potatoes with broccoli and a carrot.

I ordered Surf and Turf. But, instead, I received two plates. One plate had two prawns and four small boiled potatoes. The other plate had 3 small so-called filet steaks and some fries.

Prior to beginning our meal, the waiter, Marcel, said, "Enjoy, and good luck!" (I actually liked his Johnny Depp impressions and tipped him.) But, it was at this point, that I realized that the $26 surf and turf I'd expected was actually two separate meals and that I was the joke of the evening, as they watched to see if the American could eat it all.

My wife told the waiter that she was a vegetarian. She ordered an appetizer with "surprise vegetables" because there were no vegetarian choices on the menu. (This was my night to eat fish.) I can only imagine the laugh they all enjoyed at my expense. Hey everyone, let's watch the American, who just ordered two dinners, eat all that food. I'll bet he eats it all!!! I didn't.

It would have been very easy for them to clarify the misunderstanding early on. Rather, they cooked and charged me for both meals. Then, they insisted that I ordered two full meals for myself. One with boiled potatoes and the other with fries. Hah, hah, hah!!! They claimed that they thought I was sharing the meal with my vegetarian wife.

Their explanation for the mistake was that I'd ordered two prawns, and the surf and turf only came with one smaller prawn, which they, unfortunately, didn't have in stock. All he had to do was give me one prawn. After all, Nume was the to suggest that I eat the prawns and steak. He emphasized, "and steak!!!" I initially ordered fish. But, the ones he chose for me were way too large.

When I asked Nume if he had any smaller fish, because what he chose was too big for me to eat alone, and that my wife was vegetarian, he asked, "How about some tiger prawns? I said "Ah ok." Then, Nume said, "and steak???" I replied, "Surf and turf sounds good!" Even though I had just explained that my wife is vegetarian, Nume decided that I intended to order two meat filled meals. The posted chalk written sign read, "surf and turf 26 euros"????)

Then, when I asked what happened with the order, they explained that I'd ordered two meals because the prawns didn't come with boiled potatoes, which they had added to the plate. I hate boiled potatoes.

Actually, Nume asked me if I wanted boiled potatoes with my meal, to which I replied, "OK, and a few veggies as well, please, Obrigado!" Oddly, the waiter was told that I wanted everything on one plate. If two separate meals, then why tell Marcel, the waiter, one plate? Marcel brought me several plates. Everyone was confused!!!

This was a strange experience for me. Mainly because you were required to order your meat before entering the restaurant. It was weighed, then allegedly cooked especially for you and brought to your table. You actually pay for water soaked meat.

While on vacation in a foreign country, I felt completely taken advantage of!!! I simply wanted to enjoy the evening and have a fish dinner at a nice restaurant with my wife.

By 9:30 pm, there were still only a couple of people in the restaurant. I assume more victims came later. Tourists, PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE TO EAT!!! THEY PLAY GAMES AND TAKE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY FOR SPORT!!

There are many very good, honest, caring people in this world. All are not robbers and who steal/take from people just for fun!!! I really like Portugal and have met some wonderful people here! But, Nume is a mean spirit!!! I gave Marcel a nice tip because the misunderstanding was not his fault. But, in my heart, I know they all knew what was going on. TAKE THEM FOR ALL YOU CAN GET!!! UPSELL EVERYTHING!!! GOOD...

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE! Don't be mesmerized by the location. There are numerous other, fairly priced restaurants, serving authentic Portuguese and non Portuguese food in the immediate area.

Real Portuguese people can't afford to eat at this place. It is not a fine dining establishment. The dessert is a joke. The restaurant is a Tourist Trap! Basically, they only serve fish with boiled vegetables ie...potatoes, carrots, broccoli and no salads.The vegetarian surprise they served my wife was a scrambled egg and boiled broccoli. They claim to serve filet, but actually serve sirloin at filet mignon prices.

The fishmonger requires you to purchase your meal/fish before even being seated. He will weigh it, but doesn't tell you the cost before you're seated. Make sure to ask what you're getting and the cost of it before, "Nume" the fishmonger sends you inside. Know that you can not determine if what you pick will actually be what you are served. The fish is undoubtedly frozen and not fresh as advertised! They make a huge profit selling you way overpriced wine filled with sulfides, and water logged fish, which of course weighs far less after being cooked.

If you ask them their name, they will give you a fake one so that they don't show up on the internet and are not personally held accountable for their misrepresentations. I found out that, "Nume" is not the fishmongers' name as I was told by the waiter who claimed his name was Marcel. This means the waiter was in on the rip-off.

Portuguese people eat far more than boiled potatoes and fish!!! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME...

Way to expensive for small bites we got. We shared a really big fish - they asked us at the entrance, that's where you chose fish you want to eat, and they measure it for you Turned out only 40% of that fish was edible even though fish was gigantic.

It was ordinary grilled fish, with 3 very small potatoes on the plate, no added value, no cream, no veggies, no appetizers, it was very basic meal Though Furnas restaurant looks fancy, our plates looked sadly empty.

Wine wasnt cheap but tasted like one of those cheapest white wines from gas station :( we asked for dessert 🍰 staff told us it's big plate so we should share that too, like we shared fish. Had to go to get cake afterwards in center! Dessert was nice but it was not meant for two people!

So one small piece of grilled fish, cheap but expensive wine, and a dessert costed us 80 eur.

In Ericeira one can get really nice food for half of that price including white sangria wine, coffees for two, water, coke, soup even ....!

Dissapointed. Fancy place, not so fancy food, very basic meal, and largely overpriced heavy fish that turned out to be cca 200 grams of grilled fish.

I'm not having fun writing negative review but people should be aware that this is so called tourist trap.

Avoid it if you appreciate good nicely designed bites. If you fancy the view and if you're not...
