La Popular — Restaurant in Mafra

This was by far my favourite restaurant in Ericiera, with not only delicious local food but a real taste of the town as a whole. The staff were charming and warm and created a central hub of locals and visitors alike down a hidden, winding back street. The staff were more than willing to try and make space for people to sit inside or out, happily squeezing an extra table on the cobbled streets outside to try and accommodate people. The stand out dishes for me were the anchovies in vinegar and the garlic potatoes, which were equally vibrant in flavour and depth. All of the food was refined yet truly rustic. Best restaurant in Ericeira with no doubt! It started when we entered this place, such a warm and cozy atmosphere. We were greeted by the lovely owner and given a cute menu written on a notebook sheet. This was already a great start to a lovely dining experience!

The Tapas was out of this world, undoubtedly the best I have ever had. It's hard to pick a favourite or even three favourite dishes as everything was just so top notch! We can highly recommend the octopus, Iberico ham/croquettes, tuna salad & their surprisingly delicious black Garlic potatoes!

Be sure to make a reservation at this place, it is small so it doesn't have many tables (which adds to the coziness). If you’re looking for a genuine, lovely, local place to eat, search no further. This is the place you’re looking for . Extremely friendly, quaint little restaurant with hearty food and great house wine (I tried the white). It is really small and thus cozy and the staff is attentive and well meaning. You will find yourself immediately at home here. Additionally, they broadcast sports on their (discreet but present) screens indoors and out in the street. You can grab a stool outside and watch the match while you relish a plate of pimientos al padron with a nice cold draft....
