This might just be most idyllic place I've ever stayed! Set in the most perfectly picturesque village in the hills, it looks average from the exterior. Once inside the hotel is quaint and vintage style. We were greeted by name at reception which was a nice touch. Check in was smooth. Our room was lovely, comfortable and spotlessly clean. There was also a bottle of fresh water in the room which was nice. The room opened onto a spacious balcony overlooking the centre of the village. ||Breakfast was nice, with a good choice of offerings. ||The absolute best feature of this hotel is the garden pool. Set up at the back of the terraced garden behind the hotel, surrounded by trees and greenery and flowers is the perfect moderate sized pool with a range of loungers. The area is perfect for hiking or relaxing and you wont go wrong...

The premises are absolutely beautiful. The outside area of the restaurant is amazingly beautiful and relaxing. The area is very hot in summer, much hotter than Portimao, and they have a pool. Let's get to the staff. I don't even want to say exactly what they did for us, because I don't want guests to expect it, but they went ABOVE AND BEYOND for us, and took care of us like grandparents take care of their visiting grandchildren. So much warmth and effort. I highly recommend this hotel! If you have business in Portimao, taxis normally cost about 25€ one way. There is a bus stop nearby and a bus ticket to Portimao costs 5€. We rented a scooter in Portimao and used that to get there and back....
