Came here by recommendation of my uncle who is a regular and has been visiting Paula for many years. The view over the valley is amazing. We sat outside, sadly the chairs and tables were already starting to fall apart. At least they put a table cloth paper on the table after a while. The service was quite slow which was ok since we got the wine first. The Ham was nice, however we couldn't enjoy it together with the garlic bread as it came out 20 mins later. The garlic bread came cold and was mediocre at best. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for the tomato salad which we specifically ordered as a starter. The Piri Piri chicken is to die for however the fries were disgusting. They were greasy and raw. The tarta de nata was really good, the other cakes not so much. All in all a mixed experience.

Came as part of a tour. Everyone that was part of the tour got served their food except for me. I am vegetarian so sat inside the restaurant. It took 20 minutes to be offered water to drink. Was never offered bread while I waited for my meal. It is currently 40 minutes since sitting here without food being served. I would go to another place if I was not part of a tour group. They need to either increase their staff or not allow tour groups.

A true Portuguese home cooking restaurant. Friendly and attentive family run place. The slow cooked black pork meat was simply heavenly. The lightly sparkling white house wine a discovery. The expresso was a true tasty enjoyment. Nothing to fault in its real home cooked food.

Superb traditional Portuguese restaurant. Easy parking. Friendly service. Fair pricing. Tasteful dishes. Service time less than 20 mins (we ordered mostly grilled meat dishes). Chicken piri-piri (hot sauce grilled chicken) 10/10. Pork filets (grilled) 10/10. Batatas fritas (hand cut fried potatoes) 10/10. Garlic bread 10/10. House wine 8/10 ( recommended). If you happen to be near Monchique don't miss the opportunity to visit the place. I suggest you visit the place after sunset during late summer to better enjoy your meal in optimal ambient temperatures.

One of the best Portuguese traditional restaurants we have ever visited. Prices are very cheap for the quality and quantity of the dishes. Highly recommended.

To the owner(s): Thank you very much for the wonderful experience. We will definitely visit the place if we happen to be in Algarve in the future.

Muito obrigado....

I stopped at this restaurant as part of a group tour. We took the guide and took the option of set lunch with some starters, a main course, dessert and coffee. All of that for 17 euros. The starter had their own bread, cheese, salami, and pepperoni. They also provided a house wine. The bread was delicious and the wine was okay (a red). The main course I took was the black pork roast. The pork was locally sourced and delicious. Dessert was an almond cake, also delectable. Overall, I highly recommend this place if you are around Monchique and need to fuel up. Good food, friendly staff, and large portions to keep you going...
