Restaurante Bússola na onda — Restaurant in Nazaré

We had such a lovely time at this beach bar during our visit to Nazaré. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming—even though not all of them spoke perfect English, communication was never a problem. Our waiter, "Evo" (apologies if that’s misspelled!), was especially great. He not only recommended some delicious cocktails but also shared stories and insights about Nazaré’s history, having grown up in the area himself.

We wanted to rent an umbrella with a view of the beach, and Evo he washelpful and friendly, setting up everything for us. We paid €12 for the chairs and an additional €4 for a wind barrier, which was totally worth it for a comfortable, breezy afternoon.

We opened a tab and enjoyed a few cocktails while relaxing with our feet in the sand and an incredible view of the ocean. The drinks were great, and we also had a very tasty chicken toasty with some chips—simple, fresh, and satisfying.

The overall atmosphere was laid-back and fun, and we really appreciated how clean and well-maintained the toilets were, especially compared to some other beach bars we’d visited further north !!

All in all, it was a fantastic experience—great service, reasonable prices, and the perfect spot to unwind by the sea. We’re already planning to come back this Saturday for...

So so bad its funny. The staff are outwardly hostile to customers, you are nothing but a burden and a disturbance to their otherwise good day. Bunch of stroppy young teenagers who I cannot believe are employed. This place must be a front for money laundering, because they certainly aren't out to attract repeat business. The burger pictured looks much better than it was in reality. It may have been a tasty burger when cooked, unfortunately that was likely three days before it arrived at my table. A cold gray greasy lump of bad tasting mince, covered by a plasticky smear of old re-congealed cheese, all wrapped in a week old bun left out in the sand. Dont try ordering with the app from the handily placed QR codes on the shades, you will be ignored. Best thing about this place is having a laugh reading the terrible reviews while waiting an age to get served. Zero stars!...

Ok having been before with friends me and my wife came back on the rear end if a 2 week Portuguese road trip. OK firstly in the middle of August it was very quiet which was nice for us BUT as it turned out we figured out the reason. We ordered a round if drinks and asked to run a tab which was expected. Then after another order with food was ordered we were asked to pay, we asked why as we didn't want to pay each time one if us ordered because we are not in time drinkers but they insisted we paid even when we offered to leave a credit card. The owner was not having it and they don't take credit cards. So what we thought would be a nice relaxed prolonged afternoon with plenty of drinks turned out to be shirt lived. Not sure why the owner would not allow us to run a tab. Stupid as we would have spent at least 5 tines what we ended up...
