The hotel is located inside a restaurant. I know this sounds strange, but, yes, it is. You get to the hotel reception by crossing a seafood restaurant. ||It is a small hotel in front of Nazaré beach, and not far from the funicular to get to Praia Norte from where you can see the famous giant waves. The view of the sea is beautiful.||The breakfast is very tasty and is served in the restaurant.||We were served by Sergio, and he was very nice. Also the people in the hotel restaurant. It looks like a family hotel. ||Regarding the rooms. There is an elevator to get to the rooms. We asked for a room for three people. But, in truth, it was a room with two single beds (together), and a sofa that functioned as a third bed. In addition, the bathroom is a semi-transparent opaque glass wall, which is not optimal for privacy in a three-person room. It was a room overlooking a concrete building on a small street.||The room was very clean. However, you can tell it is a hotel that has been built many years ago. But, it did not have toiletries. ||Parking is on the street. They do not charge a parking meter between 8pm and 8am. But you have to be very attentive because at 8am it starts to count and you have to have the parking ticket. ||The hotel restaurant is a large seafood restaurant. For people who are animalistic it can be very violent, because there are live crustaceans to be selected and cooked. So, it is definitely not a hotel for...
Read moreAdega Oceano Hotel is absolutely brilliant and easily affordable. It may be classified as a 2* but feels more like a 4*.
Location: 10 min walk from Nazare bus station/ticket office. Just opposite Nazare beach and walking distance to the Fort of São Miguel Arcanjo. Nazare is a lovely town with colourful buildings. The hotel boasts views of Nazare beach and the surrounding town area.
Bedroom: A small room with two single beds, a balcony, TV, and a fridge, although it wasn't working. No kettle for hot drinks.
Bathroom: Decent sized bathroom with unlockable glass door. The toilet sits a little high above the ground. The shower cubicle is big and has a well-pressured hand-held and overhead shower with hot water. Some parts are a bit rusty but not excessively. The basin's faucet is a bit far from the body so stooping over may be required.
Breakfast & Dinner: At 45€, the included standard breakfast is a bargain. The pastel de nata was very tasty. Dinner was one of the best I've had in Portugal. Tried the tenderloin, vegetable chilli, grilled salmon, and cod with cheese. All were really tasty and well cooked. Prices are standard, but the shellfish items appear to be rather expensive.
Service: Staff are absolutely smashing. We arrived late for both breakfast and dinner, but found staff to be very friendly and pleasant. Food was served hot and was...
Read moreWe stayed at this hotel first week in September 2024. We’ve been to Nazare several times and this hotel never disappoints. The rooms were clean and modern. Service and cleaning staff were attentive and always ready to lend a hand. All of our requests were attended to promptly. This hotel has a beautiful view of the ocean. Even if you don’t have an ocean view room there are several balconies that are available to all guests that you could sit at and enjoy the view and the sound of the ocean. The hotel was perfect and we will definitely be back. The hotel comes with a delicious hot breakfast. We found the price to be very reasonable for what we received. I’ve stayed in other hotels and this one is right up there. The restaurant we ate breakfast at but also enjoyed several meals. The food was authentic Portugese food and it was always delicious from the soup to the main meal to the dessert. We had 2 kids in our party and they also enjoyed the food. The price of meals was also very reasonable. We tried other restaurants in the area and have not found any that compare to this restaurant. We would highly recommend this hotel and its restaurant it was perfect!!! Thank you. Lurdes Pereira and family...
