Paparoca Sandwicheira — Restaurant in Odemira

I recently visited Paparoca Sandwicheira and was disappointed to be refused service because the staff was afraid of my service dog. As a person with a disability, my service dog is essential for my daily activities and legally allowed in public places, including restaurants. This experience was not only frustrating but also highlighted a lack of awareness about the rights of individuals with service animals.In Portugal, service dogs are permitted in public areas without extra charges, provided they have the necessary documentation. It's crucial for businesses to understand and comply with these regulations to ensure inclusivity and accessibility for all customers. Unfortunately, this was not the case at Paparoca Sandwicheira.I hope that by sharing this experience, other service dog owners will be aware of potential issues at this location. This place is quite amazing for a meal.

Pros:

Price - very affordable prices for the quality

Food - the sandwiches, which are the house specialty, are delicious, I was impressed on how tasty they were.

Cons/Dislikes

Place - you have 3 floors, nothing much, ground, first and roof. There is not much room, however they offer take away too.

Service - I did not have a good experience on this one, the first waiter did not follow my request to deliver the food along with the meal. Made a silly joke and was unable to suggest any dish. We ate every meal here. All the food, EVERYTHING, was made from scratch. Natalia, the owner, was there all day, and you can taste the love in all her food. The staff was friendly and bright. We loved Rodolfo, who taught himself to speak fluent English. Natalia’s husband was right there helping out all day. The interior is vibrant in yellow and red. Outside dining and three floors of interior dining. We had so many different dishes…quiche, salads, duck with rice, lasagna, cuttlefish to name a few.
