Lagar Mar — Restaurant in Olhão

Had dinner at this restaurant and would not go there again and definitely would not recommend it.

Our waiter was rude and just had an unprofessional behaviour throughout the evening. To give an example, when he brought the entrées he showed it to all the other waiters and started laughing. I have asked whether there was anything worth laughing about our order but he didn't even answer. I had the cuttle fish for the main and when I got it it seemed a bit off. I had cuttle fish several times but it just tasted funny... I just put it on the fact that maybe they had a different recipe that I never tried before. It didn't take long and I got sick while still at the table. I told them there was something wrong with the fish I had but they're response was that it might be the sun. My partner also had a bit of the fish and he said the same: there was something fishy with the fish. We left and in the evening we both got sick. I more than my partner. The next day we wanted to go by the restaurant and let them know that it's unacceptable both their behaviour and the fact that they are serving food that is not fresh but funny enough the place was closed, even though it was supposed to be open...

There are lots of other places you can go and the so called view isn't worth the price, the waiters attitude or the...

First & last time. Husband ordered sardine pate,couldn't believe it,came in small tubs we've purchased in supermarkets in England, which was brought 15mins before my 'fish' soup- SO disappointed,worst I've ever had-5 pieces of same fish LOTS of liquid,complained to owners(?) daughter. Then came my skewer of lukewarm Monkfish & Prawns (2!) + 2 pieces of raw carot @ each end. Seriously, this is supposed to be top area for fish. The owner (?) came with bill, 3€ taken off the fish soup. Really disappointed, SO many other restaurants to choose from. Update: following day spoke to two couples in the hotel, both of whom visited & complained, one about the food being cold & the other couple said their fish...

Food is well presented looks great, but doesn't taste as good as it looks. Great place to go and all it falls short of taste. I can tell there's not a chef in this restaurant. Okay, I sound harsh because I had a good time, but it was the sangria not the food. If you don't think I may know what I want from a restaurant check my reviews I do this all the time. I recommend this place, but good luck...
