Service was beyond slow. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes from being seated to getting our food. It wasn't busy, either. There were 5 active tables, 2 of which were waiting for meals by the time we were seated. Another party of 2 just ordered as we were seated. A total of 14 plates to be cooked, if you include ours. And it took 1 hour and 15 minites. Not an exaggeration.

I wish that I could say that the food blew us away when we finally got it, but it didn't. It certainly didn't justify the 1:15 wait. I could see other tables left plenty of uneaten portions as well. It was fine. It was worth the price we paid. It met my expectations for Mexican on the Azores. But it was definitely not worth the 1:15 wait.

We never complained. We never asked when we would get our food or made any indication that we were unhappy. The owner came by to "apologize" for the wait. I thought this would make things better. However, when I say apologize, I mean justify the wait by explaining that 'everything is homemade. It takes time' and followed that with a literal slap on my back. Very condescending and dismissive. Also, I've worked several scratch kitchens. Homemade food doesn't take any longer when you prep properly. Also, we are talking about tacos, rice and beans. You're not making Duck Confit. Just give me a real apology or none at all.

Honestly, 3 stars is a gift for our experience, but the...

This was one of my most awesome culinary finds after visiting this magical island for many years and now living less than half a km from this hidden gem!

Don't let the name fool you! My first visit I was not in the mood to cook and thought how bad can Mexican Food be on the island?

I was blown away! Chris, the owner who is Português is extremely personable, is educated and the family which is so much apart of the Português culture all chip in!

His college sweetheart, Guadalupe ifrom Guadalupe, Mexico is the chef. Say No more about authentic cooking.

Everything is home made from the awesome 3 dip chips and sauces to the Margaritas. Corona is in the bottle but I swear if they could brew it, they probably coul A short hop from downtown Ponta Delgada and easily to find off of Sao Gancalo I'm sitting in the parking area with a full belly and a smile.

If you're looking for something different in addition to the authentic local, cuisine this is excellent and...

First things first: I can absolutely recommend this place. Great food and great service.

We visited in October 2024 and started with the homemade tortilla chips and dips. Since we are vegan, we received a second serving of guacamole instead of the sour cream dip. The chips tasted fantastic. The spicy sauce was excellent—not too hot for European tastes, but still with some kick. The guacamole was really good, too.

For the main dishes, we had the wet burrito and the vegetarian tacos. Both were amazing. The taco shell was homemade and just perfect. The sauce from the wet burrito was flavorful. Although both dishes are not originally vegan, they were easily made vegan for us.

We’re both people who tend to eat a lot, and we were absolutely satisfied with the portion sizes.

Again: Great food, highly...

By far the best dining experience we had in Azores. Granted, we visited in peak season (late August), but we waited 20 minutes or longer at several other restaurants this week without staff even saying hello to us. We were seated here within a minute both times we visited. This restaurant is family owned, and it makes such a difference. They are super friendly and attentive, and they genuinely care about your experience. They also speak English and Portuguese perfectly. The food is very good. We had the three dips, taco plate, enchiladas, gorditas, and taquitos, as well as the ice cream dessert (across 2 nights 😄), and every one was tasty, especially the 3 dips dish. I considered just eating here for the rest of the week. Our experiences elsewhere have been truly just that bad. So glad to have found this gem.

100% Mexican restaurant. They have variety in the menu. They speak Portuguese, Spanish and English. If you want the spicy dish you have to ask for it because it is adapted for us, without so much spice. My partner and I went on Tuesday night and we were lucky to park nearby. Although they were understaffed that day, I applaud the waiter who went out of his way to make sure everything went smoothly with all the tables. The food was exquisite, there was nothing left over on the plate but the drinks were very small. I would definitely return on my next trip to the Azores. We ordered a starter, superquesadilla and taco plate. We were full and happy because it wasn't expensive, 13€ each with drinks.

Good food and good service! You might pass by the place accidentally on the outside because its on a corner but do go in! The owner is really friendly! He advised us how much to order and the specialties. Try the nachos with 3 dips, so good!! If you like spicy, like, really spicy but good spicy, take the taco's a la diabla! For drinks, I recommend the cocktails margarita and the Coronarita. The mango dessert is super creamy and lovely after the spicy food! If you are vegetarian, there is one option of the mains. There are more appetizers that are suitable. Overall, nice experience, would recommend this to friends and family too!
