Porto da Espada — Restaurant in Ponta Delgada

So during our last night we wanted to try something different and went to here. According to the reviews it should be good!

When we wanted to order 3 out of the 6 meat menus were not available.... Also when we choose our dinner we got a pre appetizer, we were quite happy since this is a really nice beginning of choosing, in the end it came also on the receipt.

There was 1 girl doing all the chores while the owner was smoking some cigarettes on the terrace....

Then the salad... I am not a salad lover let me say that first, but this one killed my salad-petite completely. Also the meat was half warm.

The only good part was the sangria and the patatoes here, those were delicious! Also the view was really nice. So not all was bad.

But when in Ponta Delgada there are so many better possibilities. My advice? Please if you don't want to waste a precious dinner, don't go here.. it'll...

Beginning with the only reason I didn't review this restaurant as one star: the fish was undoubtedly fresh. However the potatoes that accompanied it were not. Some of them were old and soggy and others uncooked. None of the staff was properly masked. Only two people had any masks at all but not covering their noses. The rest didn't have any at all. Through the kitchen window we could se that none of the cooks had masks or hair nets on which resulted in two of our plates having hairs on them. The worst food we've tried in Azores! 1 star only for potatoes. Started bad and it was already a sign to leave this place but ofc you're sitting so you're staying... first 3 of 6 meat menus were not available.
