Superb food! We were a party of 6, and we ordered the fried sardines, the mushrooms, mussels, bbq octopus and mixed salad to start with. For mains we ordered the pork and veal. The portions were huge that there were enough to be shared between the 6 of us and still there too much that we skipped dessert except for the poach pear in wine.
Since we wanted another round of good food, we went back again the next day for dinner and reordered every starter again (and two plates of each) except for the mussels and bbq octopus. Instead, we ordered clams (two plates) and octopus in vinaigrette dressing. This time we also ordered the chicken salad. Every single dish was so good that i I wish Petiscas is my neighbourhood restaurant.
We skipped the main and ordered desserts. We had the mango mousse, poach pear, lime and vodka ice-cream, creme brulee, house special and Condensed milk. Every dessert was super good except the condensed milk. It was too sweet and plain on its own. But when added with the lime and vodka ice-cream, it was so good.
If ever i come back here again, i will definitely go back to the restaurant. Not just great and friendly service, even other patrons were...
Read moreQuantity over quality. Just had dinner after spending a lot of time comparing restaurants and reviews in Ponte de Lima. As appetizer we chose the Alheira a petiscas (local sausage) and the chickpea salad which was tasty and okay. As main we opted for the Posta de vitela (veal) and the bacalhau con brao. The dishes we received were almost ridiculously big portions (one plate would have been enough to share between the two of us). The veal tasted yummy, but I was disappointed by the quality of the fish as I had to remove way too many bones from my bacalhau. I would have preferred by far half the portion, but a decently cleaned fish.Oh and do have a look at the photos of the dishes on their website: they reflect rather well how uninspired the dishes are served (in contrast to the nicely decorated restaurant). You...
Read moreLittle restaurant with an nice terrasse on a quiet square and in the shadow (ideal during the hot summer). It is on the other side of the river compared too the busy city center. So if you are looking for a nice quiet place to eat in Ponte de Lima, this is the place. It has traditional, regional dishes and a good wine list. We got tiras de porco with potatoes and cabbage. The pork is grilled over fire and that's it. It's simple but very well done. It showcases the quality of the ingredient and it's simply very good. We also had melon with presunto as starter and half a bottle of wine (the wine was on the expensive side of their menu). Both the starter and the wine were very good. For two people we paid 46€. It's a good quality price ratio. I really enjoyed my lunch and I...
