A Gruta — Restaurant in Portimão

About this restaurant, at least the staff was polite and I have nothing to say about them. About the food, I will just describe it to you. The bread was from the same day but it was totally burned to charcoal on the outside, making it not good. I ordered a turkey stake with mushrooms and cream sauce. The stake was just one and really small. The sauce was wattery and without any taste. The mushrooms were clearly from can and had no taste at all and the franch fries were frozen ones with almost no salt. All the dishes we ordered were eatable but tasteless. So it was not bad in a sense that it was not eatable, but had almost no taste, and so, for a restaurant, i think it was clearly not a good experience. Eatable...

Came here with my family (I am the only vegan) but I was pleasantly surprised to see two vegan options on the menu! I ordered the vegetarian hamburger with pineapple which I confirmed was also vegan. It came out and wasn't what I was expecting. It was a bun-less burger, hand made I think topped with pineapple and strawberry. It was sweet tasting and was very nice. It also came with chips, rice and salad. Their house vinho verde (Green wine) is the best I've had!, so easy drinking. Others had sea bass, steak and chicken all of which were enjoyed. We sat down quite late so didn't enquire about desserts. Highchairs available...

Infelizmente não posso dar boa nota relativamente à comida... não que não estivesse bem confeccionada, mas sim pelas porções apresentadas! Os bitoques dos miúdos e do atendimento nada a dizer. Agora, as duas pequenas doses(pequenas não, muito pequenas!!!...que nem nome de doses se aplica) de entrecosto grelhado...5 troços cada dose do tamanho de um dedo indicador super magros, praticamente sem carne foi uma franca desilusão! O colaborador disse que ia reportar ao patrão para falar com o fornecedor... não sei se vai se não!...mas o problema não foi o tamanho, foi a quantidade!...pedi uma garrafa de vinho e tive que estar a terminá-la com as batatas fritas... é inadmissível!... quanto mais sabendo que este entrecosto não é nada caro!! Não está em causa os 80€ que paguei, o que está em causa é que quando saimos daí tivemos que ir comer algo mais a outro lado...e isto é triste e um total desapontamento! Mesmo sabendo que não estava na minha terra e que estava no Algarve, voltei a dar o benefício da dúvida...
