Restaurante Albar — Restaurant in Portimão

I have given 2 stars because the food was good in our opinion. The problem was the attitude of the waiter and the barman. We were 4 older women dinning together. Could that have influenced their attitude? A cockroach crawled up onto our table and I flicked it off with my fork. When I told the barman, he said it came from outside ( which it probably did) but his attitude was very dismissive. He did give me a clean fork though!! Another waiter spilt drink on my sister and only said, 'don't worry, it is only gin, it is nice' and gave her a napkin to wipe herself. Last but not least, our waiter, loud, tried to be funny and was not, frantic manner and condescending in the extreme. When we got the bill we were quickly checking to see if service charge was included, when he interupted, reading the bill for us over our shoulder, saying, 'all correct'. Don't recommend. Typical tourist restaurant that has nothing in common with local Portugal cuisine. Avocado with shrimps was served with mayonnaise and vinegret. We ordered tuna steak and fried shrimps as main courses. Only thing, that I felt in tuna was onion sauce. Shrimps in batter should be called "a lot of batter and a little bit of shrimps" because the amount of the batter was enormous. Salads was dirty (we have sand in our salad) and it there was vinegert everywhere, so we tasted only that. Of course, there was a lot of frozen french fries fried in deep oil. What's more, the staff was unfriendly and didn't care about us. We waited over 45 minutes for food and there was only 4-5 tables taken including ours. Absolutely poor experience at this restsursnt which is otherwise reviewed very well, it could just be my family and I that had a negative experience, but it's certainly deserving of this star rating I have given. My seafood spaghetti was of very poor quality, which after taking an hour to prepare and arrive, I was disgusted with, when my family dined, alongside me of course their meals were also of poor quality, cold and missing side dishes (potato wedges and salad). Now I must apologise if these seems picky, but as someone who dines out frequently, I was appalled with the meals at this eatery.
