Exceptional in Every Way – A Truly Memorable Dining Experience

After an extremely disappointing experience at a nearby restaurant, our evening was completely redeemed by what can only be described as outstanding service and impeccable food at this steakhouse. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism, and treated with a level of care that exceeded all expectations. It felt like night and day compared to where we had just come from — the difference in service was genuinely striking.

From the outset, the hospitality was second to none. We were greeted promptly and courteously, and our server — an older gentleman with glasses whose name I regret not getting — went above and beyond in every aspect. He was attentive, respectful, and remarkably intuitive. For instance, when I accidentally dropped my fork, he was already on his way to the table with a clean replacement before I could even lean down to pick it up. This level of attentiveness is rare, and it left a lasting impression on all of us.

For my meal, I started with the grilled prawns, followed by an 11oz fillet steak — both of which were absolutely flawless. The prawns were fresh, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. The steak was cooked exactly to my preference and melted in the mouth. Every bite was a reminder of the quality and care that this kitchen clearly puts into its food.

The entire experience, from start to finish, was flawless. The service, the food, the ambiance — everything was exactly what you would hope for when dining out. This restaurant not only met our expectations, it far surpassed them.

If you find yourself in Alvor, do not miss the opportunity to dine here. It is, without question, a must-visit. I cannot recommend it...

Was hovering between 3 & 4 stars for overall review. Service was faultless. Incredibly friendly and very attentive. Cocktails and wine also great, highly recommend the Quinta da Lapa Syrah, delicious.

Now for the food. Having read the rave reviews, have to say we were disappointed. The starters (braised mozzarella, buffalo wings and breaded mushrooms) were all absolutely average and the steak was, despite the signs and write ups, also, very average. My daughter and I had sirloin and it was cooked OK, not amazing, just ok. All sauces and sides are extra cost (this is unusual in Portugal) so be aware. The bearnaise sauce was a bit too "mustardy" for me. My son had the oxtail which was lovely, although bizarrely served with rice - mash would work better.

Desserts were fine, tasty but not extraordinary.

Anyone who is a coeliac please be aware of very limited menu options. I'd chosen Faustinos because it stated it catered for gluten free but there was only 1 starter and 1 dessert, plus no gluten free...

Went out for my Wife's birthday, The staff were friendly, polite, and spoke to us about the menu before we asked for a table. & We're part of the reason we went here... My wife went for the Lamb shank which was recommended by the waiter, and oh my god, it was something else. Came with mash & Veg and literally fell off the bone I've never seen anything like it...

I had steak, which was melt in your mouth amazing, it did however require a side otherwise you get just steak, they do however advise you of this... Starters were nice, but we're blown apart by how amazing the mains were. The lamb especially. Dessert was cheesecake and mousse, both simple elegant well made and a great finish to an amazing meal, and quite frankly A 5* experience...
