Luna Sol — Restaurant in Portimão

Not a great night out. The staff did not show any warmth towards us, not a single smile all night, we definitely did not feel welcomed, almost felt like we were intruding. We asked whether our fish could be filleted, we were told yes, yet they brought an entire fish cut in half to our table. I had to chew long and hard and pick the bones out of my mouth. The veggies were so overcooked that the broccoli was like mush and tasted like cabbage. Fish for two and half a bottle of wine (that's all we ordered) came to over 40€! We know how much a fish dinner should cost in a restaurant here, as we've been traveling around Portugal for nearly a month already. And this place is a "snack bar", not even a restaurant, so it should be even cheaper. We paid about the same price the night before at a restaurant with a nice ocean view and a gorgeous sunset right from our table. It is very frustrating when you take time to do your research and you pick a place to eat based on the glowing reviews, only to be thoroughly disappointed. The icing on the cake: we left the restaurant...

We were staying just around the corner and decided we would go out for some breakfast and a coffee. Came across Luna Sol and thought why not. Few people sitting outside we said we'd try it. We were greeted by a lady who looked like thunder. No good morning...no smile...we thought ok we'd ask for a menu...she brought it out put it on the table and walked away. Again not very friendly. We waited 8 mins and she never came back to us. So we left. Went across the road to Serigos I think. Lovely little coffee shop...had a coffee and a toasted sandwich which was delicious and service was...

Big selection of fish, good quality food. We waited for dinner for four of us for 15 mins and got all the meals together. Waiters are always in touch and keen to explain the speciality of the menu. The atmosphere is easy and enjoyable. The only thing which could be improved is furniture outside. But inside it looks authentic and nice. So I wouldn't find any reason to avoid this lovely place for those who like fish and look for...
