I recently had the pleasure of dining at [namaste India ], and it was an experience that tantalized my taste buds and left me wanting more. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy ambiance that immediately set the tone for the evening.
The menu is a delightful exploration of India's rich culinary heritage, offering a wide variety of dishes that cater to both vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike. I started with the samosas, which were perfectly crispy on the outside and packed with a flavorful filling that had just the right amount of spice. The paneer tikka was another standout, with tender pieces of paneer marinated in a delectable blend of spices and grilled to perfection.
For the main course, I opted for the butter chicken and dal makhani, paired with freshly baked naan and fragrant basmati rice. The butter chicken was creamy and rich, with succulent pieces of chicken that melted in my mouth. The dal makhani was a comforting dish with a depth of flavor that spoke to the slow cooking and attention to detail.
The service was impeccable, with the staff being both attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of exceptional.
To finish, I indulged in the gulab jamun and a cup of masala chai. The dessert was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal, and the chai was aromatic and warming, just as it should be.
Overall, [Namaste India ] is a gem that brings the authentic flavors of India to your plate. Whether you're a fan of spicy curries or prefer milder flavors, there's something here for everyone. I can't wait to return and try more of their...
Read moreWe visit family in Alvor three to four times a year and we always try to find an Indian restaurant at least once during our stay.
On this occasion we stayed at an apartment right opposite Namaste. We decided to visit the restaurant, based on the recent 5 star reviews.
Namaste has most definitely the very best Indian food we’ve found in the area. We’ve tried various restaurants in Alvor and Portimao and always been a bit disappointed. But Namaste has exceeded our expectations.
The service was first class, and the food was as good as a good British Indian restaurant in the UK.
We chose the fish curry, which had lovely sweet coconut flavours, and the chicken karahi which was rich and well spiced. The breads were well cooked and not greasy.
We were really impressed and we hope this new restaurant does really well. We look forward to...
Read moreAbsolutely fantastic experience at Namaste India in Portimão! From the moment we walked in, the staff were so welcoming and friendly it felt like we were being looked after by family.
We started with poppadoms and the cheese pakoras, which were delicious crispy, cheesy, and packed with flavour. For mains, we had the chicken jalfrezi, a sizzling mixed grill, vegetable korma, and a rich, creamy lamb pasanda. Every single dish was full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and just the right level of spice. The mixed grill was a real highlight juicy, smoky, and came out sizzling!
The portions were generous, the presentation was lovely, and the service was top-notch throughout. We left full, happy, and already planning to come back. Highly recommend Namaste India to anyone visiting Portimão it’s a proper...
