Restaurante Mistral — Restaurant in Portimão

An exceptional no-frills restaurant with amazingly fresh fish and seafood. The service can be erratic at times but that's not what you come for. They've got our order wrong on the second time we visited, but guess what, I'm not gonna get mad about it on holiday given that I have enough time to wait for them to correct it. After all, it just took an extra 10 minutes, which is more than acceptable.

Anyway, I'm going off on a tangent here. We visited three times in four days because why change a winning team, right?! You have to try the squid (if you're lucky to get it) or the octopus, which is simply out of this world. I've eaten octopus in many places around the world and have yet to find a place that matches the taste and tenderness of the one you find here consistently. If you're more of a meat lover, try the rabbit, and you won't be disappointed. Not even in Malta was it as succulent and juicy as I found it here.

Finally, shout-out to the Italo-Portuguese waiter, who knows his stuff. If you're not sure what to have, simply ask for a recommendation, and he'll sort you out and make sure that you get what...

We had a very bad experience here. A server dropped the glass on our table which is okay because everybody can make some mistakes, but the real problem was that even after we ask them to make a new dish for us (for there were glass shatters in the dish), they served the EXCACT same dish that was on the table. One of my friend found a GLASS SHATTER in her mouth, for they did bring us the SAME DISH, pretending it to be the new one.

This is not safe at all. What would happen had she swallowed it, I don’t want to imagine. And the most disappointing part was that the restaurant owner didn’t even say sorry for us at first.

Was this because we are bunch of asian travelers? Who will going to just be quiet and smile about that? Well then that’s the racism there. Worst experience ever...

2022 - Depuis plusieurs années nous venons manger dans ce restaurant pendant nos vacances à Portimão Malheureusement cette année plusieurs choses n’ont déplus Grillades mal grillées du coup obligé d’attendre à nouveau mon plat , service extrêmement long, et attention a l’addition on m’a facturé plusieurs fois des choses que je n’avais pas consommé comme le pain , olives , carottes , fromage , ou même des boissons … Alors pourquoi comme même 4 étoiles SUPER SANGRIA personnel très sympathique la fille du patron et une autre dame qui m’ont donné l’impression de gérer la salade et la terrasse sont assez professionnel et les serveurs des garçons très aimables la nourriture et bonne dans l’ensemble et c’est copieux prix très abordable terrasse très sympas Pour ne pas attendre attendre trop longtemps j’ai compris que le midi il faut arrivé avant 12h30 et le soir avant 19h30 ensuite il y a une attente trop importante Si je peu me permettre j’ai trouvé qu’en salle ils étaient assez efficacent mais en cuisine il y a un problème le même plat peu être bon un jour et pas assez cuit ou trop salé le lendemain et ne pas avoir la même quantité dans l’assiette donc je pense qu’il faudrait revoir le personnel en cuisine pour qu’ils soient constants dans leurs travail et plus rapide pour que les clients n’attendent pas trop et qu’on est la même qualité et quantité dans l’assiette tous les jours Pour finir j’aprecie beaucoup le geste du patron qui passe proposé des sardines grillés à table une bonne façon comercial de faire gouté les sardines qui sont très bonnes

On reviendra l’année même l’année prochaine ce deus quiser comme en dit au Portugal 🇵🇹
