Let's start off with the positive: The food and drinks were all excellent, nothing to add to that. Our waitress was super nice and kind, no complaints there either. Now let's dig into the issue of this place: The owner - as is quite obvious if you read into the place's ratings a bit; basically every megative rating is connected to his behaviour. We arrived there on a sunny afternoon in September (not high season!) in the afternoon, maybe around 3pm. So not exactly the time around which one can expect a lot of customers. We were told by the nice waitress to just seat ourselves wherever with plenty of empty tables to chose from. Side note: The tables are all the quite small, quadratic kind. With no one around to ask we just put together to tables from the edge of the area and neatly collected the stools as well and placed them around the two tables, around which we placed ourselves as a group of three. Now, as I mentioned, these tables are quite small and parties of two present at the time in there were struggling to find the space for their plates as one does at such tables (evidence attached). Anyway, we ordered and everything was well - until some guy suddendly stood next to me looking down at me while sipping my drink. Outta nowhere he starts ranting about hiw he doesn't know where we're from (civilised Switzerland), but how it's rude etiquette to just take and put together tables and in response to my friends' baffled expressions he said: "you can make all the faces!". He continued to rant about how we're stealing space from other people and how we'd be occupying a table for 8 for merely 3. (Now that's not even delusional anymore, just straight up crazy. You could at best fit 6 stools around these two tables and that would only work, if each only had drinks, unlike us who ordered quite the assortment of plates - roughly two per person...). His sermone went on for like two minutes with a volume that let everybody in the restaurant have a piece in it (again something I observed while reading the other reviews; he gets off on doing these kinda things in front of an audience). Now I get it as far as I would've let the "rude etiquette" part slide and admitted that we could've asked first, although still pedantic in my opinion under the given circumstances of occupation - or the lack thereof. But when he finished preaching, basically only ever looking at me, I wanted to respond, but he didn't even give me time to breath and immediately almost ran inside only to not show his face once again. Ridiculous as the whole thing was it made for a good joke throughout the rest of the vacation...
Read moreJust finished my fourth or fifth meal / juice at Super Juice in Praia da Rocha. While there are many places in Rocha where you can find wonderful, local, authentic meals, I found myself coming back to this place multiple times over my month stay in the area. As much as I loved ‘eating and drinking the Algarve’, after the occasional overindulgence of travel, dining, and drink, I was continually drawn back here to the nutritious, healthy, fresh, and thoughtful food prepared by Elves, Tatiana, and the rest of the team. But what made it even more special was the fact that they treated everyone they met like they were part of the family; not just the regulars but visiting folks like myself who appreciated that I was warmly welcomed, by name, each time I stopped by. As I now finish my first time visit to Rocha I can say that I have fallen in love with the place, and the same can be said about Super Juice. I look forward to future visits; I could not more highly...
Read moreI’ve been to Super Juice a few times now, and it’s quickly become one of my favorite healthy spots in Praia da Rocha. Their menu has so many great options—I’ve tried their toast, bowls, tea, shots, muffins, and more, and everything has been fresh, delicious, and made with care.
What really stands out is the service. The owner is a genuinely good guy, and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. If you want to adjust something—like more or less spice—they’re happy to customize it for you. The prices are fair for the quality, and the relaxed vibe makes it a great place to unwind.
There’s seating both inside and outside, and they even have a chessboard if you want to play a game while you eat. The only minor thing is that the music can get a little loud sometimes, but it’s still a fantastic place to enjoy a meal.
If you’re looking for a healthy, alcohol-free spot with great food and good energy, Super Juice is the place to go....
