Chocolate wave - Chocolate Lounge — Local services in Portimão

Fabulous little place if you love chocolate. Tucked away next to a burger restaurant & often looks closed or empty but don’t let that put you off. Inside it is a bigger space than it looks with seating booths at the front part, outside seating tucked away around the side of the building & another door straight to the counter & another room tucked away to the left of the counter with more seating. They do waffles, pancakes, crepes, hot chocolate, fruit skewers drizzled with chocolate & chocolate fondue with fresh fruit to dip. There is also a counter with artisan chocolates. They do cheese & ham toasted sandwiches, a variety of hot & iced coffee, Irish coffee & frozen milkshake drinks. The prices are very reasonable. It’s behind the apartments behind the Jupiter hotel. I had the strawberry & marshmallow skewers drizzled with melted chocolate- 2 skewers for €4 - would be ideal to share & the chocolate was rich & delicious. It’s a good value & easily missed hidden away but a great find for chocolate lovers. I think better value than some branded ice cream shops on the main strip & more seating. We couldn’t get into this cafe for the 2 times due to the an incorrect opening time on google 14:30, but in fact it opens at 15:30..

I am a chocolate person, but even for me this place was too much. Everything they have is a sugar bomb and if you want to get yourself diabetes you can surely ask for it in this “chocolate” place, that not even has a real quality chocolate, they use Bounty and other brands, poor parody of a real chocolate. Their waffle was cold too.

When ordering, I asked to add strawberries, but even that did not help to improve the taste, and the cost for it was so high that even in Stockholm you won't find such an expensive chocolate cafe, where they actually serve real...

Estabelecimento em Portimão já bastante conhecido por ser dos poucos abertos em época baixa na zona da Rocha, o que por si é de louvar pois é algo que deve ser revisto pelas instituições competentes do turismo nacional é a sazonalidade. Não sou um cliente assíduo de todas as semanas estar a frequentar mas tenho a minha dose de frequência no espaço e desta vez não correu bem em vários aspectos que simplesmente não tem o porquê de acontecer... Pedi um crepe com morangos banana chocolate e gelado (7,50€) para partilhar com a minha mulher e filha, uma limonada de morango e dois cafés (para meu irmão e esposa). Quando trouxeram o crepe não trouxeram o conjunto de talheres, a funcionária disse que ia buscar os mesmos e eu pedi um garfo extra para partilhar com a mulher e filha ao que a empregada respondeu que o que está incluído é um conjunto apenas e se queria outro teria um custo de 1,50€, respondi lhe que bela política de serviço que eles tinham e podia ter escalado esta situação para uma reclamação formal mas não o fiz pois um momento de lazer em família num sábado à noite não deve ser para me chatear... Esse "extra" obviamente não está no menu anunciado nem em qualquer lugar do estabelecimento, o que só por aí passa a ser ilegal de o fazer. O crepe claramente estava borracha o que indica provavelmente que já estaria feito, fruta estava boa e o gelado também... Enfim um serviço e atendimento que espero que seja retificado para que certamente numa próxima visita possa eu vir aqui dar uma crítica positiva.
