Our table for 2 was booked that day and we were seated at the edge of the courtyard with views across the harbour. That was the best part of our evening.
It took 15mins for our order for drinks to be taken.
A further 10 mins for our food order:
2 x fish soup. Disappointingly watery and lacking in texture or flavour.
Waited another 15mins or so for bowls to be taken away and then another 10 for our main to arrive:
Spaghetti with clams and shrimp Similar to soup no real flavour of the sea to the sauce - was like stock and not clinging to the spaghetti.
Caso do rio style fried codfish Was overcooked and full of bones. Perhaps would be good to remove the bones first or advise the customer that there are LOTS of them in the dish?
For context we have eaten here before on a number of occasions and enjoyed it so our experience was very disappointing. We didn't feel looked after or attended to and this coupled with the drop in quality in the food from previous experience was such that we...
Read moreThis restaurant has a fantastic setting on the top of the hill looking out over Alvor marina. It has good access but very limited parking unless you park in the main car park and climb a long flight of stairs to get to it. It’s very spacious inside and has a beautiful courtyard with glass windows all around to protect you from the wind. The food was ok, I can’t rate it any higher than that. I went with my wife and two friends. My wife and I had the monk fish cataplana this I thought was highly overpriced and really lacked substance. One friend had salmon and one grilled sea bass, this was delivered whole with no offer to fillet it at the table. But apparently it was very tasty. Desert was banoffee pie and apple pie both very good there was about 6 options. If you are looking for something different go there but don’t expect...
Read moreThe food was very good here, the view is absolutely stunning but unfortunately this time the service was not great, we were waiting a long time for our orders to be taken, when we ordered drinks the waiter took 10-15 minutes to bring them to the table and forgot our last order, when we mentioned to him that he hadn't brought our drinks he got defensive but to be fair he got them and didn't charge for them which is fair enough.
I have eaten here in the past and it was always one of my favourite restaurants because there is such a beautiful view of the Alvor sunset, I never had any issues before but last night was disappointing and not what we have come to...
