RIB EYE Steakhouse — Restaurant in Portimão

Lets start with the worst thing, the service. We ordered our cocktails right away, aswell as a bottle of water (luckily). The water came immediately. Shortly after that we got our main course. And the cocktails? Well they never arrived! During the whole time we ate our food and even 15 minutes after we were done, not a single one of the waiters reacted to us looking at them or even waving them over. The best part? Guess what showed up on the bill? Yes our cocktails :) After mentioning that we never even got them, all we got was from the head waiter (presumably the owner) was a nonchalant "oh sry about that" and that was it. No redemption or compensation in anyway.

The food. My 'rare' cooked steak, was a bit to much alive, but still decent. The 'medium' one of my friend was on point though. The fries were decent, depending if you like them not to crispy. BUT eventhough it was just a side dish to the steak.. I have never seen such a poor salad. A handful of lettuce, with two tiny tomatoes sliced in half, drenched in a vinegar 'dressing'.

The interior of the restaurant was quite nice and had rustic touch, sadly it was pretty loud eventhough they were at like 70% of their capacity.

All in all, a big NO for me, especially since there are a couple of steakhouses...

I had a prawn salad for lunch at this restaurant 2 weeks ago, I mentioned to my husband that the prawns were warm which was unusual, but stupidly I ate them anyway. 3am that night I started a prolonged episode of vomiting and continued to feel the effects of this for just short of a week. These things happen occasionally; any restaurant could unwittingly serve contaminated food, that is not my issue. I decided to contact the restaurant via private message telling them of my experience and suggested they check that batch or delivery of prawns and consider discarding them to ensure no other customers had the same reaction. I did not receive a response to my first message so messaged again suggesting they check that batch of prawns. I of course do not expect them to admit liability without proof but I consider it extremely I’ll mannered not to at least acknowledge my message with assurance that they would check their stock to ensure they were safe for future customers to consume. The fact they didn’t feel the need to respond to my private message reflects very poorly in my opinion on their concern for the well being of...

We have travelled Portugal from north to south and this is the only restaurant we visited 2 nights in a row. Shout out to Antonio, our waiter who has gone above and beyond for us, we will forever remember what you have done for us. There was another lady server (didn’t catch her name) and she was so wonderful! The beef carpaccio is our favourite….order your own cuz you won’t want to share! We also had the tomahawk and the Chateaubriand and both steaks were incredible, best we ever had, your cuts of meat and method of grilling has nothing on what we thought were great steaks in Manhattan. Can’t say enough wonderful things about the service, the staff and the food. So satisfied, can’t wait to return in September to eat another great meal and to see the wonderful people who made our experience in Portugal the best it could have been....
