Sikandar Indian Cuisine Rocha — Restaurant in Portimão

I was a little hesitant to try this restaurant because there were only 5 reviews (so far). But the chef totally won me over. I was even asked how spicy I wanted my food. I ordered a medium spicy dish and it was simply delicious, even if it could have been a little spicier.

After a delicious mixed vegetable starter with 4 different sauces, I enjoyed a fabulous Sikandar Special Biryani with prawns, chicken, lamb and some eggs. To finish, I ordered a chai with milk.

If the chef keeps cooking this well and fresh, it won't be long before the restaurant has hundreds of 5-star reviews on Google. During my stay, the restaurant even got more and more guests of the pre google age. Therefore, be not fooled by the reviews.

Zero starts:( Stay away! This place is bad in every way: overpriced, terrible service, and poor food quality. First we were asked to pay for our food directly after ordering. Then we didn’t even get the right food that we ordered, and the portions were really small (but not cheep!). On top of that the waiter kept disturbing us while eating, trying to sell us more wine, he even tried to put a wine in front of me that I didn’t ask for, sayin that I could just drink it if I felt like it?!? I asked him to take it back, since I already had one glass. And finally it was 6 euro pr. glass. Double price of what we normally pay in Portimão for a glass of wine. It felt like a complete scam. Sikandar Indian Cuisine Rocha in Portugal exceeded all expectations. The mixed starter was a flavorful introduction, offering a variety of perfectly spiced bites. The Chicken Masala was rich, creamy, and bursting with authentic Indian flavors, while the Afghani Murg Tilkka stood out with its tender, fresh spices. The Keema Naan, soft and generously stuffed, was the perfect accompaniment. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the staff were attentive and pleasant.
