This time, disappointed....

Today we were at the ziza restaurant ... And that was the 4th time since 2018, I was happy to go there every year for dinner! I love portimao and I always liked the ziza so far. It was even a firm wish to go there again, because of the good food and the atmosphere...

.... Unfortunately it has changed. To be fair, maybe they had a bad day. Maybe it is also the current situation that affects us all.

+(only +) The main course and dessert were very delicious! (sea bass and cake)

The service (otherwise very cordial) rushed us through the "menu" today. They didn't ask if everything is okay, only if we want to have dessert, coffee etc. (whole dinner was 50 min, and we took time)

(We thought maybe the table was reserved and so we should hurry, but half of the restaurant was empty).

with every order, also with the request to give us some time, the waitress. (guess the owner or owners wife) was waiting next to the table. (in not a good mood)

the soup was only lukewarm (since we were there directly at 19h, we didn't say anything, thought they meant it nicely and they hurried, for us to get food fast. (but the evening "the 50min" went on like this.

I could say more about it but since I liked this restaurant very much otherwise, I hope it was a slip!!!!!

For us it was not a comfortable evening, very sad Hopefully it is not always like this now...

Normaly we would have loved it to stay longer. Maybe for another wine, but Wie didn't felt welcome at all.

Realy...

We finally made it to Zizá after months of anticipation — and it did not disappoint! Set on a cute, culturally rich street in the center of Portimão, just steps from the beautiful garden and riverwalk, the location adds so much charm to the experience.

I ordered the Bacalhau (codfish) and my husband had the Dourada (sea bream). Both dishes were outstanding: the fish was incredibly fresh, perfectly cooked, and the portions were huge.

We also shared the Algarvian salad, which was delicious and full of flavor. I especially loved the different seasonings they leave on the table — such a fun touch to spice up your salad exactly how you like it.

The service was excellent — warm, attentive, and welcoming. While we stuck to the cod and dorada this time, we couldn’t help but notice the Cataplana coming out of the kitchen — it looked absolutely incredible. We’ll definitely be back to try it next time.

We can’t wait to bring our girls here — it’s the kind of place that feels special but still relaxed and family-friendly. Highly recommend if you’re looking for fresh, flavorful seafood and a great atmosphere...

Yesterday, I asked my favorite person to take me somewhere for a great meal. We stumbled upon this gem after our first choice didn't meet expectations. The restaurant had limited indoor seating, and we arrived just as it opened for the evening. It filled up quickly, with some tables reserved for a birthday party.

We were recommended the house cataplana, and it was amazing! The aroma was incredible, and the fresh white fish, sweet shrimp, parsley, clams, mussels, and potatoes were delicious. I even drank the broth like soup. The olives were nicely coated in olive oil, and the bread was fresh. The galao at the end was great, too.

This family-owned restaurant excels in quality and customer service. It was also very clean, and the kitchen looked immaculate. I would love to go back, and the price...

A place for the locals. If you're after the authentic Cataplana, this is where you can get it. It's not the usual tourist stop over but it's definitely worth it. The veggie soup was just a perfect dish to whet the appetite to prepare you for the of so flavoursome Cataplana. We had the house special Cataplana and it was full of rich flavours, 2 types of fish, prawns, mussels and clams. Absolutely delicious. To finish off, the home made caramel dessert (like creme caramel) was too sure for. Get your tasty buds ready for this meal. You'll be in for a treat.
