Came into Portimao 11:30 to get bus to Mexih** Grande at 12:10 so loads of time to get a sandwich or something at this Pingo Doce, or so we thought. Got to the deli counter number up was 90, we were number 94. Nobody serving, we can see what we want but can’t get it. Eventually a staff member comes round, starts asking what folk want, it takes time to serve them, someone wants something not already on offer, it’s made up then she has to go elsewhere so it can be shrink wrapped (why aren’t their bags good enough?), and I’m starting to panic that we aren’t going to make our bus connection. Read moreQuite simply the worst shop in the city. It constantly always amazes me why people shop here. The quality of food is average at best. I will admit that the staff are ALWAYS very friendly but they all deserve a medal for working there. They are chronically understaffed and the queues are always so long and slow. The card-only till is seldom open and other members of staff float around whilst scored of empty check-outs lay dormant. A case in point: I once went to the check-out 2 minutes before closing and instead of getting everyone out as fast as they could, they closed all but one of the check-outs. Half of the queue walked out as the queue was so long. I feel for the really nice people who work there. Better organisation behind the scenes would make a world...
Read moreTheis is a grocery store and it also has a cafeteria that has Pizza and pasta to order as well as a grill thathas meat and fish. It also has rotating local dishes that are quite tasty. I like it because I can see what is available before I choose. Prices are good i just paid €5.99 for a meal with a soda and a water.
