Benagil Express — Local services in Portimão

Very impressed. Had a fantastic time, with children aged 5 and 2. Good value too! Our trilingual guide Miguel dressed as and acted like a pirate and was tremendously entertaining and engaging. Both he and the driver Fernando were friendly and informative, although at times it was a bit hard to hear them over the wind, waves and motor (compounded with my slight deafness!). Miguel let our 5 year old help to steer the boat, and was very supportive in encouraging him to have a swim off the boat. The views of the cliffs and caves were spectacular. We went inside quite a few caves, including of course the most famous Benagil Cave. I had previously emailed the business through its website to enquire whether we would be getting off the boat, and was very impressed by their prompt email back. Of course it did not include an exit from from the boat in the cave, but it was for the best, as the cave was absolutely packed with swimmers and kayakers. It did however feature a funny pirate stoush between Miguel and another boat's guide! Unfortunately one passenger had his phone on a long selfie stick that got in the way of some good photo opportunities on the tour, and because he was videoing, it hardly went down. Hopefully those reading this are more considerate of other passengers if they choose to bring a selfie stick. We booked our 2 hour Benagil and Marinha Tour on the 8th of August and it was an amazing experience. Our guides were Tudor and Miguelle ( I hope I have spelt their names correctly) Both wonderful and very friendly. They both made the tour fun and entertaining. I would definitely recommend Benagil Express for the Cave Tour, you will have a great time. Make sure not to book with Benagil Cave Trip By Manguitu´s, the most rude woman at reception/ booking desk I have come across on my entire Portugal Trip. I was literally screamed at because I asked for directions. God forbid something goes wrong, I am certain they would have the worst customer service. Absolutely fantastic experience. The staff is very helpful. They picked us from our hotel. They offer pickup drop off from your hotel. We even stored our bags there. We went through some amazing caves and passed by stunning beaches. Some caves were much more prettier than Benagil. The crew also takes pics of the family and we made many stops along the way to capture pictures. We didn't stop for a long time inside Benagil,it was very busy around the time we went with many boats trying to come in but we still got some amazing pics there and other places.
