Di Gusto — Restaurant in Santarém

Illegal practices, horrible food and a disrespectful owner!! Dont go there if you dont want to waste your money!!! SCAM!! I had dinner with a group of friends and everything started with a table that was already prepared with starters. It was some bread and 3 different dips- the usual prices for that would be around 6-8€, even so we knew it should not be already placed on the table we thought we will start with the bread and give it a go as we were hungry. Later it turned out that they wanted to charge 16€ for that-and they putted 2 plates already on the table which makes a total of 32€ for bread?!?! Well, i decided that i will go for the Ravioli with shrimps. Besides the horrible taste ( everyone agreed on the table from 5 people) the quantity was a bad joke. They putted 3 Raviolis on the plate…i guess not even a 7 year old kid will be not hungry anymore with such a portion. Anyway- it was impossible to eat due to the disgusting taste.My friends had also very small portions but at least it was eatable ( not good- just eatable), besides my friend that ordered “Risotto”. The “Risotto” was made with normal rice and looked and tasted like something that someone already ate before… We decided that we want to speak with the owner and get the complain book- guess what?! He was unpolite, disrespectful and told me that i need to speak with him in portuguese not englisch- but my foreigner money would have been just fine ;-) I live in Portugal for 8 years and speak fluent portuguese- this was the most horrible...

Booked a table for 19 perosns and was confirmed through email. Once arrived at restaurant we were treated good and the table was already prepared. We were greeted by the manager and he knew how to speak English perfectly but for some reason he sent a waiter that did not knew a word in english to serve us and he preferred to serve other local patrons. Service was extremely slow, we waited for about 1hr 30mins for the straters and 2 of them did not even arrive. We asked for them and told us that the one of them cannot be done because 1 ingredient was finished and the other came with the main courses. Unfortunately the meat plates had the fries unbeatable since it was overcooked and cold. The meat was tender but low in quality/taste and small portion. The pasta and pizza were fine. To top it all we were charged €98 for 6 apetizer plates that were found on the table upon arrival and another €12 for the packed grissini. When we complained the waiter told us that tge boss left and that he will call him. Later the reply was that he could not do anything about it. We've decided to leave without having...

This restaurant was an extremely good surprise. We were there for the ridotto snd pasta but were offered the most fantastic shrimps tempura with turnip and spicy sauce. It was the best I ever ate! The pasta, made in the house had just the correct balance between spicy and flavoury, not salted at all with great shrimps and clams. Only the risotto, I guess they forgot the cheese, or the cheese and the butter, was just too dry and not together. Congrats for the great cooks and staff, very nice and helpful.
