Praia com tempero — Restaurant in Silves

Friendly staff but inexperienced, ie asking you what you like to eat from the menu just as you sat down, there were no other customers at this point in the restaurant. Couvert to start was nice. House red wine was a little bit sour. We were the first couple of the evening so when we ordered medium cooked sirloin steak and medium cooked duck we were disappointed when both came cooked rare to medium rare. We also had to ask and wait quite a while for our steak knives and salt for the chips to arrive twice from two waiters as the first one waiter seemed to forget and was taking orders from another table of newly arrived customers. Meanwhile as we waited for the correct cutlery our meals grew colder before we discovered the lack of cooking. Always a shame when you have to remind staff to bring condiments and correct cutlery. We sent duck back for further cooking but by then it had disrupted our experience so we didn’t bother with desert or the Fado music which was why we had originally booked the restaurant. No offer of a discount for our experience so we paid up and left. We won’t return or recommend to our friends. We haven’t had a bad experience for quite sometime in the Algarve and will therefore stick to our tried and trusted other restaurants. Deutsch: (English, Português ⬇️) Ich war heute mit meinem Bruder und seiner Freundin hier essen, und ehrlich gesagt, bin ich stinksauer. Alles in allem würde ich diesen Laden mit aller Mühe höchstens 2 Sterne geben! Preis-Leistung passt hier auf gar keinen Fall. Die Freundin meines Bruders hat sich „Squid“ für 20€ bestellt - einen Teller mit Tintenfischen, Gemüse und als Extra Pommes. Bekommen hat sie dafür 2 Mini Tintenfische mit einer witzigen Portion Wedges. Auf Nachfrage hin kam zwar das besagte Gemüse - die Wedges wurden jedoch als Pommes abgestempelt. Dabei hat mein Bruder den Burger bestellt, und dazu bekam er normale Pommes. Ich habe mir Lachs bestellt. Dieser kam nicht gewürzt und mit Gräten. Aber nicht nur an Preis-Leistung fehlt es diesem Laden. Unsere Bestellung wurde zuletzt aufgenommen - vermutlich, weil wir erst Mitte 20 sind. Wir mussten fast 40 Minuten auf unser Essen warten, und als Krönung kam es auch noch kalt an. Nach Äußerung von Kritik am Ende des Abends, wurde diese erstens nicht angenommen und zweitens wurden wir an die Chefin, die kein Englisch versteht, weitergeleitet.

Englisch: I ate here today with my brother and his girlfriend, and to be honest, I’m furious. All in all, I would give this place at most 2 stars, and that’s being generous! The value for money is absolutely terrible. My brother’s girlfriend ordered "Squid" for €20 – a plate with squid, vegetables, and fries as an extra. What she got were 2 mini squids with a ridiculous portion of wedges. When we asked about it, the vegetables eventually arrived – but the wedges were labeled as fries. Meanwhile, my brother ordered a burger, and he got regular fries with it. I ordered salmon, which arrived unseasoned and full of bones. But it’s not just the poor value for money. Our order was taken last – probably because we’re only in our mid-20s. We waited almost 40 minutes for our food, and to top it off, it arrived cold. When we raised our concerns at the end of the evening, not only was our feedback dismissed, but we were also referred to the manager, who doesn’t speak English.

Portugiesisch: Hoje fui jantar aqui com o meu irmão e a namorada dele, e para ser sincero, estou furioso. No geral, eu daria a este lugar, no máximo, 2 estrelas, e isso com muita boa vontade! O custo-benefício é péssimo. A namorada do meu irmão pediu "Lula" por 20 € – um prato com lulas, legumes e batatas fritas como extra. O que ela recebeu foram 2 mini lulas com uma porção ridícula de batatas rústicas. Quando perguntamos, os legumes até vieram – mas as batatas rústicas foram chamadas de batatas fritas. Entretanto, o meu irmão pediu um hambúrguer, e com ele vieram batatas fritas normais. Pedi salmão, que chegou sem tempero e cheio de espinhas. Mas não é só o custo-benefício que falta neste restaurante. Fomos os últimos a ter o pedido atendido – provavelmente porque temos apenas cerca de 20 anos. Esperamos quase 40 minutos pela nossa comida, e para piorar, chegou fria. Quando fizemos críticas no final da noite, primeiro não foram aceitas e, segundo, fomos encaminhados para a gerente, que não...

Poor service and uncooked food - if that is what you like then this is the place for you. We had the special. It consisted of Luke warm vegetable soup. When we asked the staff if it was supposed to be cold soup they said "yes enjoy" - clearly it was neither a cold or hot soup and should have been hot! The main course was salmon which was almost a complete stranger to heat. Slightly singed on the outside and completely raw in the vast majority of the rest. The only redeaming feature was the slice of lemon!! To be fair, when I told the staff, (poor service as it was far too late before they attended) they did offer a replacement meal. I refused and informed them politely that I would not be back. One to be avoided!!
