Rio Rooftop - Tapas Bar & Wine — Restaurant in Silves

Although the staff was friendly, I can’t give this new restaurant more than one star. The Ceviche of tuna I ordered was served in a deep puddle of the lemon or lime marinade. Because of the vast amount of acid, I had to drain the tuna before I could take a bite. This is not the way to serve a ceviche! When we asked the waitress if she would tell the chef, she said she would. When she didn’t come back with an answer we asked, but with an unsatisfying result. When the bill came the waitress told us the cardmachine was out of order. We were just one twenty short in cash (of a bill more than €60) and she was reluctant to let us go for that small amount. I told her that she could accept this or that we would take all the money and walk …...

We have stayed near silves for a week and have visited a number of restaurants. This is up the stairs on the corner away from the popular BBQ areas. We were met by Manuel who offered us the table of our choosing.

We had a lovely view of the river and ordered some of the tapas food, the croquettes were excellent and the cocktails were very fresh and well made. Manuel continued to look after us professionally and took care of us.

It was quiet but a lovely restaurant....

Been meaning to try this place for a bit and finally had the chance this past weekend. Had cocktails Saturday afternoon and found the space and the manager so welcoming that we stopped by for breakfast Sunday.
