Ateliê 47 — Restaurant in Silves

Please do not attend if you’re from an ethnic background, as I sat down I could see the stance of the waiters serving which took them ages to see me although I arrived before many others. They were very unfriendly and to be honest from I experienced this, I should’ve left immediately instead of wasting any more of my day. The vegetarian options were INEDIBLE. I first ordered a veggie burger thinking there’s no way I could go wrong with that, the burger was a weird texture, felt wet and was absolutely tasteless, I sent it back and ordered the prawn rice box instead; the prawns were uncooked, tasted like they literally came from the sea to my plate, the rice was cold and hard and the meal was again absolutely tasteless, hard and cold (apart from the prawns tasting like the sea). My friend also ordered the prawn rice box and was only able to eat the avocado. I tried to explain this to the staff who became very aggressive, rude, and dismissive demanding I paid for the food that I didn’t and couldn’t eat, getting extremely offensive when I challenged this. I visit Portugal yearly and love the food there, this was my first ever bad experience and it was absolutely terrible. I wish the staff had been a little more courteous and respectful to avoid me having to write such a review but there’s no way you’re serving tasteless, uncooked food, topped with a despicable attitude! The food looked amazing but looks are very deceiving. Many people ordered meat/fish dishes and appeared happy with their food so maybe the restaurant needs to revisit their veggie options instead of wanting to fight their customers. Warm, intimate, well-decorated cafe with friendly family service…we found the street location and table by window a perfect setting for our break-from-touring lunch. Our hostess guided us on our order of veggie plates and a Portuguese steak to get what our stomachs wanted. The indoor space was compact, yet well designed to give each table a private experience. This restaurant is awesome! My partner and I were staying in Silves and it was walking distance from the hotel. The server spoke good English and it was easy to order. My partner is Vegan but I wanted fish. It was very easy at Atelier 47. We shared the wedge potatoes and the garlic parsley fried mushrooms for an appetizer. They were delicious! My partner got the vegan Portuguese style tofu and I got the fresh shrimp skewer. We shared a get bottle of Vinho Verde.
