Very disappointing experience at Compromisso. Food was very mediocre and overall extremely overpriced. In addition, it is not a "local" place---you will be much better served and have a considerably better experience if you go to a Portuguese-owned restaurant. This place is the perfect example of how foreign "investors" are leaching off of the generosity of the Portuguese people and economy. Restaurants like this care more about the dime in their pocket than the customer satisfaction and are one example of what is ruining the beauty of Portugal, which used to be the best place to holiday. We have lived in the Algarve for several years. Our favorite restaurant for consistently delicious food, great atmosphere, and friendly service is Compromisso.The meals are always creative and flavorful. We’ve enjoyed all the starters and main dishes we’ve tried. Our favorites are the salads, mushroom chicken, pork tenderloin and the rib eye steak. My husband is also thrilled that he can get a great Belgian beer - the choices are extensive. Finally, the staff are friendly and helpful. My partner, our toddler and I had a fantastic time at Compromisso. The restaurant features sophisticated decor, creating the perfect atmosphere for socialising and dining. We tried a rump steak from the specials menu, a pizza, and spaghetti bolognese from the children's menu, and each dish was delightful. A special mention also for the homemade desserts, as were also outstanding. We would have definitely returned if we had stayed in the area for a longer period.
