Guarda Rios Hamburgueria & Tapas — Restaurant in Tavira

Been here before. The hamburger were perfectly cooked/grilled. The bread, with some seeds on top, were also perfectly cooked. Everything was really tasty! We should be going here more often!

They have, according to their menu and reviews here, also several drinks like sangria. Well next time, today I had two glasses of really nice, and a couple of beers for my husband.

But still, this place along the river is one of my favorite restaurants. Good, well cooked hamburger and sides, in a simple setting and a simple, plain wooden house. Simple benches an tables. Nothing fancy at all.

But the hamburgers are very nice with homemade special formed french fries. Try it, you will like it!! And the children love it, both the food and that they can run...

Hamburgers are a bit of a splurge for us. We normally limit our beef intake to once every month or so. An awesome seared Angus beef hamburger, with perky red leaf lettuce, cornichon, tomato and bacon and cheese. The beef was well seasoned and tasted super fresh. The buns had a crunchy corn meal crust, different than the soft buns are common in the United States. The V-shaped wedge potato fries were with their dipping mayonnaise were novel and totally yummy. We sat outside next to the cute road-themed skate park. The service was quick and very helpful. Prices were reasonable for the food we received. This beef splurge was so worth it! I am aghast that in this day and age, when so many people rely on Google and the internet to find places to eat etc, that businesses fail to ensure their own opening hours are up to date on here!

We’d seen this place online before even travelling to Portugal, went there at 18:45 yesterday and either they close on Wednesdays, or have closed for the season. All the chairs and tables were stacked at the side of the building.

Either way, Google says they were open and they weren’t … time wasted going here and by the time we walked back to our number 2 choice, they’d no tables left until after 9pm. Thanks...
