O Tacho — Restaurant in Tavira

The worst meal we have ever had in Portugal😣😣

My husband and I have been pass g this restaurant for the last year. Every time we passed it, we said"we really must try it out" Well tonight was the night, but boy, what a disappointment!!!

The menu has very little choice. We had the usual covert which turned out to be the best part of the meal. Lovely bread, very bitter olives and one salmon paste.

The waiters were lovely. On the recommendations we ordered the pork with pineapple accompanied by potatoes and vegetables. When the meal arrived, it was the usual chips and salad piled in the plate. The salad of lettucr, tomato and chopped onion was swimming in the oil and fat of ghe meat. The pineapple ( 1.5 thin slices) was charged and tinned. I ate some of mine and then disaster, I cut into a piece of pork and it was red, not only red, but had blood clots in it. That was the end of my meal. My husband's was slightly better but also his last piece of meat was red.

When the waiter came to clear the table, I complained to him. He took the offending plates away and when he returned, He advised he had told the owner that we were unhappy.The waiter advised us to reiterate to the owner when we paid the bill.

This we did, to no avail. The owner claimed not to understand English (having being told by waiter that he does). We called the waiter and asked for his help to explain. The owner continued to be totally disinterested. On the end we just paid the bill and left.

This was our worst experience in 20 yrs of coming to Portugal....

Il personale è stato molto maleducato, siamo arrivati alle 22:00 e abbiamo aspettato per 30 minuti all'ingresso senza che nessuno ci dicesse nulla. Abbiamo provato a chiedere informazioni agli adetti del ristorante che vedevamo andare avanti e indietro nel locale ma abbiamo ricevuto solo risposte maleducate. Preme far notare che vi erano numerosi tavoli vuoti sia dentro che fuori il locale che avrebbero potuto almeno farci sedere (c'era anche una bambina con me, con 4 adulti9. Ho chiesto di parlare con il responsabile ma mi è stato detto in toni maleducati e altezzosi che non ero nessuno per parlare con il responsabile e di stare ad aspettare senza rompere ulteriorlmente. Ovviamente ho preferito mangiare da un altra parte. Sconsiglio vivamente tutti di frequentare questo posto orribile.

Nós tentamos perguntar aos funcionários do restaurante para obter informações que vimos indo e voltando no restaurante, mas recebemos apenas respostas rudes. Por favor, note que havia inúmeras mesas vazias dentro e fora do local que poderia ter, pelo menos, nos fez sentar (havia também uma menina comigo, com 4 adultos.9 Eu pedi para falar com o gerente, mas foi-me dito em tons rudes e altivo que eu era ninguém para falar com o gerente e esperar e esperar sem quebrar dentro. Claro que eu preferi comer em outro lugar, eu aconselho fortemente contra assistir a este lugar horrível.

The staff was very rude, we arrived at 22:00 and we waited for 30 minutes at the entrance without anyone telling us anything. We tried to ask the restaurant staff for information that we saw going back and forth in the restaurant but we received only rude replies. Please note that there were numerous empty tables both inside and outside the venue that could have at least made us sit (there was also a girl with me, with 4 adults.9 I asked to speak with the manager but I was told in rude tones and haughty that I was no one to talk to the manager and to wait and wait without breaking in. Of course I preferred to eat somewhere else, I strongly advise against attending this horrible place.

Le personnel était très impoli, nous sommes arrivés à 22h00 et nous avons attendu 30 minutes à l'entrée sans que personne ne nous dise quoi que ce soit. Nous avons essayé de demander au personnel du restaurant des informations que nous avions vues aller et venir au restaurant, mais nous n’avions reçu que des réponses grossières. Veuillez noter qu'il y avait de nombreuses tables vides à la fois à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de la salle qui auraient pu au moins nous faire asseoir (il y avait aussi une fille avec moi, avec 4 adultes.9 J'ai demandé à parler au directeur mais on m'a dit avec des tons grossiers et fier que je ne sois personne pour parler au responsable et attendre sans attendre. Bien sûr, j’ai préféré manger ailleurs, je déconseille vivement d’aller dans cet...

We had been recommended O Tacho restaurant. We went last Friday night at 18:27...a full 3 minutes before they opened only to be greeted by a rude little scruffy man that barked at us "We are clo-sed" and when we asked him in Portuguese what time he opened he ignored us and went screaming to the kitchen like a an angry little dictator. One of the staff (who I felt sorry for), said to us to come back in ten minutes but honestly, I'd rather starve than give a pathetic little man like that my money.

Señor, you should be begging me and licking my fresh new Air Jordans to come into your dirty, greasy smelling restaurant. The smell coming from the kitchen was like someone had fried up faeces.

Absolutely everyone should avoid this place. I can only go by the smell and the service, thankfully, we never ate there and spent €300 elsewhere.
