This is such a difficult review to write. I will explain at the end so you can get the full picture.

The place is stunning, we had a clear day and a table for 6 by the window on a Tuesday night. We arrived early which was the right thing to do for 6 people as the resturant filled. The benches outside add a more relaxed way to watch a stunning sunset.

The waiter and service were great, apart from the poor fella being blinded by the sun whilst taking our order.

The resturant feels light and airy with classic simple tables dressed well. The music is at the right level and good background.

So the food. At the venue we were automatically given, bread, olives, oil and cheese. We ate them but assume you could send them back if not needed. Starters arrived and were all really great, full of flavour. My only nighle would be the Scallops which were tiny and not really value for money. The mains were plentiful and equally as nice as the starters. We watched the sun disappear paid and left all very satisfied.

Now to conclude what had been a lovely evening. At about 11:30 my stomach clearly decided something was wrong with an element of my food and I spent most of the night and seated resident in my bathroom......

I can only assume it was the oriental tartar and that maybe the salmon element may have been out too long. At the time this tasted lovely but it appears to be the gift that keeps on giving.

Everyone else on the night was fine. So my dilemma is what to review in stars. It truly is a great venue and the food is wonderful but clearly a closer look at some aspects is needed.

Judge me as you will but I have to mark the food down to midway. Such a pity as it would have...

We reserved for a group of twenty co-workers. Because our group was so big they worked patiently with us to rearrange the seating so everybody could still sit together. They didn’t complain for any second and did their ultimate best to serve us. They made great suggestions for us for the fresh fish of the day. We had the turbot and sea bass served in a salt crust that was lit on fire at the table which gave a great spectacle. We were seated with a great view at the ocean and the sunset. Food had excellent taste, food came out at the right time. Service was correct, precise and made you feel right at home. All staff could speak English easily. Tuna and salmon tartar was amazing. Try the grilled shrimp served on a bed of black rice. The restaurant owner was the person accommodating us and he was also the one preparing the seafood for us. He was so patient with us because we all wanted/needed to pay separately. We had to change the bill a couple of times because we had people with us that couldn't pay for any wine on the bill because of religious reasons. Again the restaurant owner met us with unwavering patience and separated the bill out for that part of the group. We thanked him for the amazing food and the out of this world hospitality. The only thing he asked for return is to spread the word on his restaurant. I told him I would give him an honest review and definitely will come back myself and recommend it to all my friends. Please visit this place but do reserve in advance! You will not be...

We walk past Bronzear almost every day as we live in Santa Cruz and were waiting for it to re-open. I had the chance to ask this morning on my first walk into town and the owner, Bruno, confirmed they were opening today, so I made a reservation for dinner this evening. Everything was excellent. Started with fresh warm rolls accompanied by a small bowl of olive oil for dipping. Also enjoyed delicious plump ripe olives, swimming in olive oil and nicely seasoned. For appetizers, my wife had the tuna tartar and I chose the Peruvian ceviche (with sea bass). Both were artfully plated and delicious. For the main course, my wife had the linguini with prawns and I opted for the Argentine steak with amazing scalloped potatoes. We shared a slice of Basque cheesecake along with a cafe for my wife and a meia de leite for me. Service was very good, presentation was beautiful, food was absolutely delicious - and the view cannot be beat. We have been fans of Bronzear since moving here and will continue to be. Our compliments to Bruno, the chef and his team....
