Maraberto restaurante — Restaurant in Viana do Castelo

This is such a great restaurant, with top quality fresh fish and wines. It's very well located, by the river, in the docks, with free parking by the door (the parking entrance is near the fortress, in the back - you'll find it easily). There's an inside room and outdoor seating, with 5-6 tables each, which is great - it doesn't get too crowded and you can enjoy a great meal in a sofisticated, calm mood. The fish is outstanding (Mar Aberto means Open Sea - nobody comes here to eat meat! If you want to eat meat, go somewhere else, as you'll be literally spoiling the opportunity to eat the sea) and so are the desserts. We had marisco seafood plater the third time. The price is appropriate, the service excellent and the taste is unsurpassed delicate. Amacing, a great experience and wonderful tasting. This restaurant is amazing! The food was delicious and the service was very attentive. We ordered “Gambas ao alho” for the starter and were really good. For the mains, we ordered “Dourada” and we really enjoyed. It was very fresh and the cooking point was perfect. We weren’t sure about if we should order more food, but the waiter was very helpful. He advice us that we would have enough food with the plates we ordered. He was totally right, we were so full that we didn’t order a dessert.
