Pattaya thai — Restaurant in Viana do Castelo

A must stop if you are in the area for a few days & need to shake up your taste buds away from the delicious Portuguese food. Two floors but advise to arrive early in evening as gets full quite quickly. Authentic Thai food by a Thai owner. We had, to start, salt & pepper squid - yummy but would have liked it a little less soggy & crispier - spring rolls were lovely (thankyou as now our daughter is converted to liking them!) and crispy won ton type money box dumpling things again, another hit. Nice variation of drinks, lovely half bottle of vinho Verde. Only problem here is service is slow, lovely staff, but it took ages to bring our main course. It was worth the wait although the satay chicken skewers were a little dry. I had Thai red curry and asked for medium hotness and whoah! Was it spicy! So be careful on upgrading the spiciness! It was delicious and came with enough rice to enjoy. All, with drinks including two beers, half bottle wine, glass of wine & soft drink came to about €60 for 3. Beautiful Thai food, served by enthusiastically pleasant and engaging staff. I love spicy food so asked & it was made 'hotter' to suit my tastes. Also child friendly flavours too. Flavoursome, filling and affordable. The mixed platter started us off....just yum, with chicken satay, prawn tempura...delish....worth going just for this alone!? Fried rice, beautiful with prawns and my granddaughter loved the chicken version.... Wines, nothing to say.....just mmmmmmm vinho Verde 😜 Then of course deserts....I saw them all but banana fritters was my choice....delicious hot & not too sweet😁, went down very very well. My God, this culinary experience was one of the best in my life ever!!if you live hereby or just passing by,you cannot stop here and try the amazing food chef Nom cookes, she's from Thailand and her food is just excellent,each dish is exquisite!!!we ate here just every night we spent in Viana Do Castelo and we will come back for sure in our next visit in Portugal!!!service was also excellent,the owner Luis is very elegant, experienced, and attentive to all the tables in the restaurant, we felt very well taken care of.
