Authentic local restaurant - one of the best places for fish and seafood in Algarve. Very popular amongst locals, tucked away from the touristy area. All the fish and seafood is catch of the day, local and fresh - I understood the restaurant has its own fishery or works with an exclusive one. In fact, there isn’t a menu. You get to pick what you want. Prices were reasonable given the quality and freshness -for example, 1/4 portion of grilled sardines consists of 4 sardines and is €4.00. Food is well prepared and served promptly. A side salad is offered for €1.50. The place also offers meat, and I don’t recall it catering for vegetarians or vegans. There’s a range of local desserts such as the fig, almond and carob cake. The service was impeccable. There is ample seating space for small and large groups, however it gets pretty busy. I recommend booking in advance - if you don’t and need to wait, I guarantee you it’s...
Read moreWhen we arrived, the staff asked us to choose a drink and the other staff will come and pick us up to go choose the fishes. The problem was that we went there with the hope to have perceve/percebes (goose benacle) for lunch. However, they didn’t have it on that day and we already ordered wine and start drinking. I think it would be better to let us see what they have so we can decide whether we want to eat there or not. We can for sure just drink wine and leave but we think it would be really weird to just drink and leave without ordering any food so think we have to order something. We got the squid, but they didn’t weight it in front of us so we have no clue what the actual weight. We only know the price per kilo and that’s all. The squid tastes really good so nothing much to complain about the...
Read moreI received many good feedback from this restaurant but I have to say my experience was terrible... We arrived with 8 people (with 2 starving children) and there was no waiting line at the moment. I told the waiter that we're here and waiting for some rome to clear up. We even had some beers on the terrace in front. He was well aware that we were there waiting. Then all of a sudden he starts making a waiting list. 3 families register before we even notice it. Bottom line : 1 hour of waiting for nothing because he never made the necessary arrangements to find a table for 8. Don't got there if you're a big group and, even worse, if you don't speak portuguese. They didn't even offer us a drink, we had to pay for everything... My gosh the service in this place, and...
