We were greatly looking forward to a pleasant evening with our family. We found you through a recommendation on a travel blog.
Upon arrival we were kindly greeted and assigned a table outside. Nice setting so the evening looked good.
We ordered our cocktail and drinks for the kids. Immediately with that we ordered our starters to enjoy our appetizer. Garlic sandwiches and nacho cheese it was!
About 3 minutes later we received our starters but no aperitif yet. That only came about 3 minutes later. Can happen we think.
We were asked for our order for dinner. We gave it but told the waitress that we would like to take it easy and drink our aperitif first and enjoy the starters. We said this explicitly to avoid them serving our main meal immediately. The young lady smiled briefly and said that there was certainly no rush required. This reassured us.
After taking 3 sips of my aperitif, I saw someone coming off with the meal. This was barely 5 minutes after we received our aperitif.
The starters were not even half finished and still warm or there was our meal in front of our noses. When served, I immediately commented that we had explicitly asked to wait until after the starters. The young lady
Still with half a glass of appetizer, half a plate of garlic rolls and 3/4 of our nachos, I had to choose between continuing to eat my starters and a cold main course or leaving the starters and a hot main course.
When I noticed the lady who had taken the order and addressed her, she responded smilingly by saying again that we could take our time.
The food itself was genuinely tasty. The atmosphere and setting is also nice but their timing pulls at nothing. Too bad though. Timed... After 35 min my appetizer, starter and main course had been served and eaten.... Gone...

The service was ok, and only because there was no set waiter/waitress, so if you needed an item you had to get up and get waiter/waitress. I say this because they were mostly just playing on thier phones at the bar facing away customers.
The food was ok, and from what I ate I can only recommend to NOT get the fries (they do not do that well). I am not looking for the addictive McDonald’s fries, but for a restuarant it should have a good taste. Recommend they get some practice and taste test until so it can be improved.
Side note: they did have a small boutique selling merchandise. When I asked for assistance they looked at me like I was a complete idiot and when I asked pricing, the waitresses I spoke with looked at each other and just guessed a price, actually both saying two different prices at the same time. Merch was not marked. I’d recommend marking the merch since it’s small and update as necessary since restuarant is primary focus. I literally just said thank you...
Read moreA great spot for a family meal in Sagres! We ordered the Birds and Retro burgers, truffle oil and cheese fries, plus coleslaw. From the very first look at the plates, you can tell they care about presentation – beautifully served dishes, and the taste is even better. The burgers are absolute top tier for Portugal – juicy meat, well-balanced toppings, and fresh brioche buns. The truffle fries have a punchy flavor that really stands out, though at €7.5 per portion, they could be a bit more reasonably priced.
The atmosphere is spot-on – great background music, a laid-back vibe, and a staff that really makes the difference. The waitresses are friendly, helpful, and speak perfect English, which instantly makes you feel welcome.
If I could suggest one improvement, it would be the option to choose the doneness of the burger patties – mine was a bit undercooked for my taste, but that’s just personal preference. The whole family left happy, so if you’re in the area and looking for great food in a cool setting – this place is definitely...
