Very unfriendly guy at the door. Came by and asked if there was any availability, but he told me they were fully booked and that I only have 2 options: takeaway or make a reservation for another day. When I called 5 min later if there was any availability the person on the phone told me they were fully booked at the moment, but that she could put me on the waiting list and that it would not take long before I would have a seat. I came back and the person at the door was even less friendly than the first time and told me that this was indeed an option and that he did tell me this option (which he did not) and that I could stand there waiting. I asked if I could sit at one of the front tables with my drink while waiting until the people would arrive (and then I would get up), but no this was absolutely not an option. More than half of the restaurant was still empty, so it was not like within 15 min all tables would be taken. He told me that this was not possible because then they would need to clean the table. 1. How dirty does a table from just one drink, and 2. Even if it would get dirty, what kind of service do you offer if you are even too lazy to clean 1 table. Then I walked out of...

Fantastic pizza joint, pizzas are delicious and authentic. Too bad the short middle aged guy who seems to work as front of house/waiter is rude and condescending…

Edit: to the owner’s response, yes pizza joint… As for the my experience, how do you know if he was rude or just busy? Were you there to see the entire exchange? I could tell your venue was busy, everyone was rushing around working and no one was rude except for the short skinny guy. He didn’t want to serve us because it was close to closing time despite another member of staff telling us we could get takeaway. When he was overriden by someone, maybe the manager or owner (you?) he was upset and rude to me. He wouldn’t give my pizzas to me, insisted I walk over to him to collect it. Didn’t smile back and when we left made a slightly racist remark which I will not repeat. I was not rude to him at all, I was exceeding polite in person but I wanted to give an honest review.

We turned up without a booking as we hadn't planned a stop here but we are so happy we did! The staff were friendly and polite and service was very quick. We expected to have to fumble through our Portuguese (which we are not confident with yet) but all staff spoke English, whilst it was a shame to not practice it did make it a smoother evening especially as I have some difficult dietary needs.

On that note, this is the single best Gluten Free pizza base I've ever tried - crispy on the outside yet wonderfully springy interior and delicious flavour. I would have been happy just with this delicious bread to be honest but they have a great variety of toppings to choose from (which made it easy to account for my other allergens) so I did choose something a bit more sophisticated and it was great to try some locally sourced ingredients.

Free parking outside, including 2 disabled spaces (also step free access for any wheelchair users) and plenty more free parking a close walk if all spots are taken.
