Super beautiful location, style & ambient! Sadly I experienced some of the staff to be quite unfriendly, annoyed, overly serious & stressed as well as unhelpful in the three times I've been here. The food looks very very good! I didnt try it but enjoyed very much that they are one of the few places here who have matcha latte. But that was also the problem. Some of the staff and also once the what seemed to me to be the owner treated me quite poorly due to not spending a lot of money in their establishment which for me says a lot... Definitely a place at which how much money you have & spend determines how you will be treated. It seemed like they just wanted to make a lot of money especially when they didnt let me sit at a (even small) table to drink my matcha latte even though over half of the tables was free because they wanted to keep them free for more paying guests and due cast me to the side on a sofa where I was not even treated like a guest. I understand this kind of behavior when there is a scarcity of tables left bc it's mainly a restaurant & not a cafe, yet they could have let me drink my max 20min matcha latte at a small table with the note that if my table will be needed I will have to move to the sofa. But instead they just rudely told me it was a restaurant and thus I had to sit cast to the side, drink my matcha there while over half of the restaurant was empty... Some other staff on the other hand was very friendly, lovely & helpful. It was not black or white. Some were very nice & friendly. I felt treated like less or looked down on due to not fitting into the "rich & wealthy" category of people. All in all an experience which I enjoyed and also did...
Read moreProbably we had too high expectations. Unfortunately we all got disappointed both with the service and the food. We were a group of 8 (4 children). It was nice that the restaurant provided some books and pencils to draw. About the food: expensive, small portions and tasteless. The shrimp risotto looked like a starter and was tasteless. The rice was like a paste and it was cold. The octopus had ok consistency but some strange sauce that overshadowed the taste of the octopus. The gnocchi was swimming in a cream sauce, pesto and raw pieces of onion. The tuna burger was tasty. The children pasta was 9 euros and not more than spaghetti with olive oil and cheese on the side. My friend found a huge hair on his salad. Answer from the waitress: “ nobody in the kitchen has blonde hair “. Well, nobody on our table either and the hair was stuck in the salad leaves. This place seems to be run by french people and we could feel the french arrogance in the service. They were mixing up the orders and were bringing dishes to our table that were supposed to be to someone else. I really don’t understand all the reviews on this place. There are so many genuine nice places to eat in Portugal. We will not come back and cannot recommend this place. I didn’t see a single Portuguese eating there, that probably...
Read moreThis restaurant was recommended to us by some family friends who moved to Portugal for retirement. Parking can be a bit tough, but there is an adjacent parking lot past the restaurant, to the left up a hill.
The food was excellent seafood. It is owned and operated by French people, so Portuguese is not necessarily fluently spoken here. The oysters were amazing, probably the best I have ever had, and I wanted to message the owner to see about sort of dressing he served the oysters with (I believe it was red wine vinegar, shallots and salt, as well as a lemon wedge). On the advice of our friend, I ordered the salmon, which was wonderful, though it is imported from Scandinavia, so not locally caught. My friend got the octupus, which was perfectly cooked. I have honestly not had octopus so well cooked. It was crispy on the outside, but not rubbery on the inside. I believe this was from a high heat open flame for only a minute or two.
They have a child's plate of steak and french fries, which received good reviews from the child in our group. If you have a kid and they get a bit anxious or squirmy, the beach is only about 50 yards away, and makes for a nice place to walk after the meal. I would definitely return to Miam...
