Canastra do Fidalgo — Restaurant in Ílhavo

The food was good, but it is the only thing that was good. When we arrived, they brought us bread, some butter and olive oil and bottle of water. Guess what, it was then included in our check. Almost 13 euros for things that we never ordered. In France the things that you didn't order are not on the check, they are compliments of the restaurant. Also among these 13 euros of strange fees we have got something called posticos do dia, I tried to Google it and it seems to be kind of mixed appetizers, we never had those. The waitress was extremely insisting with dessert, we were obliged to tell at least 3 times that yes, we don't want any dessert. Needless to say that even the food was good, we won't return to this place. Oh, and the next time I face such thing I will make a scandal, I was just to tired to row over strange things...

Absolutely beautiful seafood restaraunt right off the water of Aviero / Costa Nova.

The owner seated us and was very friendly. They helped us pick out some nice wines to pair with the meal and we got some of the best seafood I’ve had in my life. The octopus was cooked perfectly and not the least bit rubbery, it was almost soft and pillowy in your mouth. The prawn was gushing with flavors and was so fresh. The clams had the simplest sauce to simply intensify the natural amazing flavor. And of course, we tried all of the deserts, and they were all to die for. Also, I believe the Sous Chef served our food and was able to answer some questions we had about the meal.

This was one of those truly rare 11/10 dining experiences. The service, ambiance, and food were all literally perfect. Can’t recommend this...

Vacationing comes with certain expectations. Travelling, relaxing, site seeing and eating. This restaurant was a great place to eat. We had seafood rice on the mind and that's what we got. A large, old European mom style, pot full of delicious prawn, clams, shrimp and maybe a muscle or two. It was great. The rice well cooked, the broth worth dipping bread into and the seafood very fresh. The downside is mostly that it's a wee bit on the expensive side but that goes without saying as it's in a very touristy area but service was great and the food was soo good that I didn't even have room for dessert, which is...
