Knife Steakhouse & Cigar — Restaurant in Al-Daayen

What should have been a lovely meal out, unfortunately left me with a bitter taste in my mouth.

I visited Knife Steak & Cigar approximately 2.5 weeks ago with a friend. The restaurant was beautiful, with a lovely view, and the food was tasty.

However, what shocked me was the failure of the restaurant to honour their offer on the Entertainer App, which provides for 2 for 1 on their main courses.

My friend and I both ordered steak (with hers being more expensive than mine). When I presented the offer on the Entertainer App, we were informed that the restaurant could not accept it. We were told that the offer would only work had we ordered identical meals. This was absolutely incorrect and was also illogical.

The app itself says ‘we invite you to enjoy a complimentary Main Course when a Main Course of equal or greater value is purchased.’ This confirms that my less expensive steak should have been complimentary. It makes no sense that had I ordered a more expensive steak, it would have been free, but not the one of lesser value that I ordered.

When I read the wording on the app to a Mr Yusuf/ Yusef, he interrupted me and said ‘I know what the app says, it’s not up to us, the system won’t accept it’. I felt that this was dismissive.

It is incredibly misleading to have an offer on the Entertainer App, which is then not honoured by the restaurant. It effectively entices people to attend, and then fails to deliver the offer. It has since been suggested to me to make a report to the Ministy of Commerce and Industry, and I am considering taking this action.

I visited this restaurant with the expectation of using the Entertainer app for a discount on our main courses, particularly the steaks. However, after we finished our meal, the receptionist informed us that the steak we had ordered was not eligible for the Entertainer discount, but another steak was. We paid and didn’t think much of it.

Later, we returned to the receptionist, pointing out that the Entertainer app clearly lists all main courses (including steaks) as eligible for discounts. He then changed his story, saying only salads were eligible, which was completely contrary to what he had initially told us. He promised to check with the manager and get back to us.

Two hours later, we hadn’t received any call or follow-up. We tried calling him multiple times, but our calls were ignored, despite the initial promise to resolve the issue.

This entire experience felt like a scam, and the lack of transparency, professionalism, and customer care is unacceptable. I will not be returning and would advise others to be cautious if they plan to use the...

What a beautiful and delicious gem I found in Doha! The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between warmth and sophistication, with one of the best views in the city. The food is simply on another level—crafted with care and featuring impeccable quality meats.

I went with my boyfriend for a romantic dinner, and this place exceeded all our expectations, even as a dry restaurant. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, making it a culinary experience to remember.

While it’s not a budget-friendly spot, it’s worth every riyal. Plus, we took advantage of an app promotion that significantly lightened the bill, which was a nice bonus.
