Always disappointed when I come here. We decided to give it another try and book for liquid brunch after a friend said they had enjoyed it only to be disappointed and frustrated again with the service and response from the staff. When you make a reservation you presume that means you will have a table and chairs to sit on, not to be told that you need to specify this when booking in order to be given. Who wants to stand on a big empty floor holding their drink? You are made to stay in 1 area policed by very intimidating security that watch your every move including saying I'm not allowed to hold my husband's hand whilst we were there! It's very dark and smokey and they have much nicer areas that they will not allow you to use. The only friendly people are the bar staff but they are forced to follow the rule of only 1 drink per person meaning everyone from your group has to keep waiting at the bar each time which doesn't create a sociable experience to enjoy with friends. On my first visit the same issue happened where we were told we had to be specific on where we wanted to book. I had never been to the venue before so was not aware that they had 2 outside areas and that 1 area was for ladies night only. We were a mixed group and was not coming specifically for ladies night so when asked I said no which meant we were then seated in an empty area upstairs on our own and was not able to sit with anyone else which was not explained when we booked, so we decided to leave and go elsewhere. The next time I came the service was extremely poor and I had brought my mother whilst she was visiting Doha, the waitress actually suggested we ordered double of everything as they couldn't serve everyone and it would take too long to come back!! Now there are no waitresses and you can't sit down. I will not be going back again as each time there is an issue and I'm told I have to be more specific when I make a reservation. Who makes a booking and says I would like that to include the table...
Read moreWe arrived at Highmore Bar as usual expecting to use the Qatar Airways discount. Instead, the staff at the door sent us upstairs with Uber, and when we finally reached the desk—after standing in the heat—they suddenly asked us to pay 400 QAR without giving any clear explanation.
The host was extremely rude, and when I asked for clarification, no response was given. Even worse, the security staff forced us to leave, refused to give his name, and grabbed my phone without my permission. This is unacceptable and completely unprofessional.
At the Waldorf, you would expect respect and proper hospitality. Staff not wearing name badges and treating guests this way is a shame. When we finally spoke with the manager, Murad, although he was more understanding, he only “twisted” the situation—sending us upstairs again but seating us in a dead, empty area with no music and no atmosphere. It felt dismissive rather than welcoming.
This place does not deserve even 1 star. Very disappointing for a brand like Waldorf. I would not recommend this...

Every week when my friends and I visit, we’re welcomed with such warmth and professionalism. Special thanks to Nabil, Era, Victor, and Moureen—they always go the extra mile to take care of us. The bartenders (the Indian gentleman and the lady with the ponytail) are also fantastic; they already know my usual drinks, which makes every visit feel personal. Even the security officers deserve recognition for being polite, professional, and making us feel safe.
What makes Highmore truly special is how the staff remember and recognize us whenever we come—it makes us feel very welcome. Combined with the fun crowd, lively atmosphere, and great music that sets the mood perfectly, it’s no wonder Highmore has become my favorite spot in town.
If you want a place that guarantees a good time, Highmore is definitely the place to be. Highly...
